I don't have any Chinese ancestry, but when I was little my grandma always used to take me into Liverpool to see the firecrackers go off and the dragon dance. Any excuse to go out for a Chinese meal is a good one!
I wouldn't mind learning more about Chinese culture, but when I was in Singapore a couple of years back I found the smells of incense and Chinese baking a bit difficult to take, particularly the tradition of having quite pungent incense burning at the door of a restaurant. Some of the temples were interesting, though.
