Really. I didn't know there was a national lipstick day, let alone an international one.

Seldom has so much controversy surrounded such a small tube. If anything, Lipstick Day is intended to celebrate the prolific and gloriously glossy survival of that little stick of colour that has sometimes been equated to a lethal stick of dynamite. Whether it is seductively adding more pull to a pout, or scrawling a meaningful message on a mirror, lipstick has historically refused to be ignored.

Sarah Bernhardt created some epic scandal by applying lip rouge in public and Queen Victoria considered makeup hugely impolite and intended only to mark the most impolite of women. Yet, Winston Churchill found lipstick to be a wonderful morale booster and refused to limit its production during WW11. It seems he shared the secret women (and some men) have known for at least 5,000 years. Lipstick adds colour to character, so flaunt your brightest and make Lipstick Day a huge, marvelously colourful event.

Happy National Lipstick Day! Now go buy some lipstick.

I can't help but think of the scene in "Restless" where Xander goes to the back of the ice cream truck and Tara and Willow are there with the most lurid possible shades of lipstick on, and they seem to be, ahem, enjoying each other's company. It would be interesting to know what shades they were using. Naw, I'll take that back. I don't care what shades they were using. But it was a very tarted-up visual.

So what color lipstick are you wearing today Mr. Pole? 😛😀
I try to match my panties to my lipstick color.. if it were the other way around I would be on the hunt for Skidmarks Lipstick. But, as my panties read Wednesday they, like my lipstick are black. In honor of Wednesday Addams of course.

Aren't you glad you asked?

What I want to know is do clowns celebrate lipstick day? Or are they excluded when the focus is on other people?
Do they get a national 'face paint' day to make up for it?

Hell, do clowns even wear lipstick or is it some other sort of colorful lip coating?

Clearly we need more 'National Days' to clear this sort of confusion up! 🙂
None of them are called "Harlot".

Maybe Joyce did burn it?
Shame. 🙁

You're overthinking this, Taffy.

First week of August is National Clown Week so your query is apropos... I would imagine they just wait a few days and roll lipstick day right into Clown week.. sorta like some people do Christmas and New Years.
