Happy Thanksgiving

We don't celebrate it at all (why should we? As far as I know it's really purely American, right?), but the Mormons we talked to yesterday told us about it, apparently they are celebrating it here in Maastricht.


To all the Americans out here (or, if you just celebrate Thanksgiving anyway, without any reason), happy Thanksgiving 😀

Well, we celebrate it here, and for all of the non-American members. you will just have to imagine the absolute Saturnalia that will be taking place here today. Turkey, ham, roast beef, dressing, sweet potatoe casserole, green beans (yuck), hot buttered rolls, pies and cakes of every description and, of course, the traditional ritual of too many men crowded around a television, half asleep, watching a bunch of muscle bound, over paid Neanderthals bash each other's so called brains out in a fight over an inflated pig skin covered bladder of air.

I just gained three pounds just talking about it.

But the day is to give thanks for friends and family, and, to our family here on the Boards, whatever race, religion, age, nationality, or political belief, I give thanks tor knowing each and every one of you.

Happy thanksgiving, and, though the quote is associated with another holiday, it is still appropriate here as well: "God bless us, one and all."

when i went to america this time last year we had tofurkey it was yumm :D

One of the great things about this season, running from Thanksgiving through Christmas, is that it makes the New Year's resolution, "I will cut back on my caloric intake" so easy to stick to, at least until next November, when the whole cycle starts over again.

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating! (Probably one of the few days in the year when my daily calory intake falls on the below average end of the spectrum here on the boards, huh? 😛 )
