Happy Valentines day you guys! This is just a thread to give nice wishes to everyone here on the boards!🙂 I'm celebrating by my flight to Texas being cancelled🙁 but I got a couple of new books!😀

I just hate Valentines Day. So no celebration for me (it's not like I'm seeing anyone right now anyway, so what would be the point?).

I have to tell you all my valentine's ordeal... it kinda sucks.

My girlfriend is a big tennis fan and especially a Raphael Nadal fan. So, next week there's this big tournament in Rotterdam, the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament. More than half of the top 20 players are gonna be there, including Raphael Nadal. There was a contest through Metro (the free newspaper) to win tickets. My girlfriend got all a couple of our friends to join. I did it too, but thinking "hey, what are the odds of winning," I decided to buy tickets for the Tournament myself to give on Valentines Day. So, I did. And she was very very surprised and happy. But later today she got a call from one of our friends that he had won tickets through the contest! Of course, this had to be the one male friend that I sometimes suspect might have himself a little crush on my gal 🙁. Anyway, luckily the tickets are for the same game, so she can't go to both and he's said he's now gonna give the tickets to his dad, but still the whole thing kinda sucks.

I don't really understand Valentines day nowadays, its all way too commercialised, just like Fathers Day. Though somehow I still celebrate both! My boyfriend is a softie and always has to buy me something, therefore making me feel bad if I don't get him something *sigh*. We're going out for a meal tonight too, though it's half for my birthday and half for valentines day 🙂
