By this, I don't mean vampires, demons or the forces of darkness - just the small, non life-threatening events which seem fairly unlikely. For instance, how the hell did nobody know Harmony was dead until they met her as a vampire. Surely Buffy, Willow and Oz, being in Sunnydale over the summer, would have heard about a funeral or seen something in the local paper; despite being in LA, you'd think Cordy would have as well, being her best friend. Even if not, surely one of the Scoobies would have had the decency to let Cordelia know her old friend was a vampire after they found out.

Also the complete stupidity of ALL parents and adults there. Actually, the entire city. Why wouldn't you wanna move!!! Oh, especially in The Wish episode. Are you telling me it wouldn't be less lifethreatening to just .... MOVE! lol. I know if they had then there would be no show, but you know, for argument's sake. Or how about Graduation Day Part 2 where all the parents just get up and leave their children to face certain impending doom. Hahahaha.

What are some you guys can think of?

It's called Suspension of Disbelief lol
How about that girl Sandy that evil Willow bit becoming a vampire. That was really not credible, the way she left her.

It's so easy to come up with stuff for this question. I just go through the list of episodes written by Drew Z Greenberg.

In Him, if that jacket has been around since the days of Pretty's big brother, and it causes so much trouble why is this the first anybody in Sunnydale is hearing of it.

If Buffy still has the bazooka in Him, why didn't she make use of it all the times she needed a little more fire power, and she was desperate - eg The Gift, Chosen.

The Troika chasing vampires with stakes tied to their ATVs (like that would actually work), and more unbelievable still, the vampires running in terror.

I wondered that about Him, also.
MOO, come on, not every adult saw those kids, why did no one else PROTECT THE BOOKS!

I agree to some extent about why didn't everyone leave Sunnydale - but then again, so many people are killed in every city everywhere, every day we can't all move to happy violent free communes. I mean, it always seemed to me like Vamp!kills were in place of Gun!kills so the death rate was just that. However, people should have started staying indoors at night! I mean I live in a safe town, but there's still no way I'd be tralalalaling through dark parks alone at night.

I think Sunnydale wasnt the most expensive place to live thats why people stayed there.

But I always had to laugh at how Sunnydale amazingly grew in size each year and then all we get is a small crater in Chosen. It started out with a the good part of town just a few blocks away from the bad side of the town. Grew to having its own harbor and airport.

Speaking of that, Sunnydale had a harbour and a beach but then when it got destroyed and you saw the crater  ....that one always makes me laugh. :lol2:

Not only that, they had an airport big enough to handle big jets, AND regular jet flights to LA, which was sopposed to be within a day's drive to the south.

But everone knows that the beach and harbor were just a wee bit to the left of where the frame showing the crater ended. :hihi:

Or maybe the same principle applies here which Fake Shemp taught me too keep in mind when encountering so-called "inconsistencies" in a show about a certain Warrior Princess who wishes to remain anonymous:

A sorceror did it. 😉

You know what always struck me as weird? The fact that no one from the Council contacted Giles after Kendra was Called. Obviously, this meant that Buffy was dead, and yet, no one called to check if Giles was alright, or to see if he needed anything, or with instructions on returning to England to work at the Council buildings. It took, like, 6 months for Giles to find out that a new Slayer had been called after Buffy's death, and that he was no longer the Watcher of the 'current' Slayer. He was the Watcher of the extra one.

And in S6, when the gang are getting ready to bring Buffy back, everyone is so sure that she's trapped in some hell dimension and that they must free her. Not one of them considers the possibility that she might be in heaven, afterall, she was a champion of good, and she died saving the world, and she did her job and she was all kinds of good. Why on earth would she be sent to hell?

Hmm... Yeah and Giles was getting paid to be a watcher so why would they still be paying him?

to support this, i watched this the first time with my cousin, who kept griping about that, thinking it didnt make sense that she wasnt in heaven. i was like, get over it! its a mystical death so she's in hell, i dont know, thats just how it is! hehe, and my cousin ended up being right 😉. perhaps the scoobies just thought like me :silly:.

Ya since Buffy jumped through the portal that Glory opened and then her body just fell right through it, they thought that sent her to a hell dimension. Which maybe wouldnt have been that bad of an alternate from being in Heaven.

The lack of parental involvement always did make me wonder. I also wondered how anyone could stay in Sunnydale after the you know, how many-ith death? After the mayor was a demon at Graduation, you would think everyone would pack up and leave town.

It really annoys me that when Buffy wakes up in the middle of the night or in the morning she has lipstick on, I can look past most makeup... but lipstick? Really?

I want to know where everyone gets wooden stakes? Wal-Mart? Do they chisel them by hand in the back yard or wht?

Welll...in HIm I thought the rocket launcher was different. The one she had against the judge or whatever was bulkier and grayish black. The one in Him was silver right???

NOw the Jacket. No one probably noticed because its high school. Kids go crazy over the same boy/girl. Only reason the Scoobies notieced is because they saw Dawn, Willow, Buffy and Anya go crazy over him and Wills gay! lol

Graduation....alot of people died so they really didnt have time to check around. Besides, Harmony could of kept coming around at night and visi, talk/ chat. They did graduate so the whole high school circle was kinda broken. I mean come on....when u graduate from HS u rarely see anyone u knew except for your closest friends.

I freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE your banner.... OMG they are so seriously OTP! Mega karma!

I've always assumed Buffy stole it in Him. (The Scoobies have been known to be thieves since S2 :lmao: ) But I agree about the stupidity of never using it again.

Same with Willow. She discovers new spells that save the day and never uses them again.

My guess is that they bought blocks of wood from the hardware store, cut them into stake size and chiseled them so one end was pointy.

One hard to believe event for me happened in s3's The Wish. Buffy is at that house Zachary Kralik is at, she grabs his pills and goes down this chute and her mom is in this room that the chute leads down to. Then Kralik jumps down the chute as well and Buffy is in front of it with his pills. He grabs his pills and grabs the water, then realizes Buffy switched the water out for holy water. But the thing is, five seconds went by between Buffy in the room with her mother to Kralik landing in there after going through the chute. How did Buffy have time to throw the water in the glass on the ground and dump her holy water in it in only five seconds?

Xander whittles them from pieces of wood, he mentions it and you see him do it in School Hard

Here's one: if there is one slayer, and loads of watchers, why don't they all go help the slayer? what do the other watchers do all day? and surely they must have thought someone might attack them and make another base somewhere incase a crazy preacher decided to blow one of them up?

I love how Sunnydale seemed to grow. It was a one-Starbucks town.....yet it had an international airport? A train station? A harbor? (The beach could have been outside Sunnydale..well, I guess the harbor could too..) A mall? Loads of factories, abandoned and active ones? Twelve (I believe) cemeteries, and a dozen or so churches? It just started getting ridiculous.

The whole financial situation in Buffy S6 is so unlikely, but it's been hashed over so often...I mean, why didn't Tara and Willow have jobs, how could Buffy support everyone working at the Doublemeat Palace, it's just completely unrealistic.
