Yeah, I've seen people quickly jump in and say that Christian Kane is the only actor, aside from DB, to have been in the first and last episode of Angel thus giving him that 'honour'.

I don't think by missing a season, you can take away from the fact that technically she is the longest serving actor/character of the Buffyverse TV shows.

DB is obviously the second, but I think thats quite a feat for a character that only made it as a permanent character after 8 years of being connected to the show.
 
Then actually Cordelia would be right up with Harmony for longest charecter due to her appearance in S5 of Angel.

Kind of funny it would be those two out of everyone.
 
Yes - Mercedes McNab, as Harmony, is the ONLY character to have been with the show from the unaired pilot to the very last episode.

Other characters/actors have been in more episodes but on pure longevity, Harmony wins.
 
I thought Harmony was an ok character, and I really like Mercedes McNabb, but she was always one of those who I never cared less if they brought her back. I thought she was good for some comic relief and that was it.
 
I pretty much agree with you, HisMrs. Of course, being a heterosexual male, I also think she provided Buffy and Angel with nice eye candy and a good dose of sex appeal. On the other hand, since Season Five of Angel seems pretty bleak to me so far (I'm halfway through), I welcome the sexy comic relief 🙂. I also agree that she's one of the more likable vampires because she mostly maintains her pre-vamp personality, but I'm curious as to why that is. Most if not all of the other vampires possess personalities that are very different from their human counterparts. My best guess is Harmony's lack of intelligence, which is also why she's not a very good vampire (as she has said). I'm also surprised that she doesn't try to attack any Wolfram & Hart employees more often during Season Five, since she is a soulless vampire. But I guess (again) that she supplies herself with a very effective substitute, and we already know that pig's blood and otter's blood have worked well for Angel--so human blood is not absolutely necessary. That also leads me to believe that Whedon's vampires primarily attack humans because of bloodlust, if Harmony can (apparently) suppress her urges to attack humans. Maybe I'm overthinking this too much, but it just strikes me that Harmony is an anomaly among vampires. Then again, one could consider Oz an anomaly among werewolves, so it's not impossible for such a supernatural creature to not strictly adhere to "the rules" (not that werewolves adhere to the same rules as vampires).
 
Harmonys just desperate to be part of anything really. Whoever wants her, she'l play by their rules, even if it means repressing her urges. If her and Spike stayed together she'd probably become more evil and vamp like.
But if someone evil(like Hamilton or vamp gang in Disharmony) show her interest she'l happily backstab any human.

I absolutely love Harmony. She's definitely my favorite female vampire. She's so ditzy, yet aware of things...
 
Harmony is funny and loved her in Disharmony, but I liked her better has a high school Cordette than as a vampire. I never liked her and Spike together on Buffy but she got better when she moved to Angel.
 
It took me a while to really appreciate Harmony. I mean, how many times did she try to kill Buffy? She was such a blonde ditz...Spikes play thing. I think I really started to love her when she was on Angel. She just brought something interesting to the show...a beautiful dimwitted intelligent vamp who occassionally thought about her actions and cared about other people. What an oxymoron! ha ha One thing she always managed to do was crack me up!!! And how can you not appreciate that?!:cheering:

OMH, I say "I love syphilis more than you" all the time.
Spike and Harmony cracked me up.
 
I really do not like Harmony. I know her whole character revolved around being annoying, and in some cases, a total dumb ass, but I found her to be over the top.

You know, I really like the character of Harmony, but I wouldn't really watch anything else just because Mercedes was in it. I don't know what that means, lol.

Yeah, I like vampire Harmony. I think she's super cute and funny.

I dont find her very sexy though, she has a kinda strange face.

I think I'm going to go home to watch some early Buffy today, I'm looking forward to seeing some high school Harmony! She couldn't have been in that many Buffy S1-3 episodes really. I don't even remember her being around that much in high school.
