Harry Haters

I can't say I'm a Harry Hater, since I've never read any of the books or seen the movies. No basis to judge whether I like them or not.....I've heard both sides of the argument, but still can't decide if I'll give it a go or not. I do have to admit I can't figure out what all the furor is about, tho. Iirc, LOTR has a huge following, too. And the attendant number of detractors.

Ah okay yeah. I didn't want to read the books at first, but then did and started loving them. But then again, you might not. Just don't hate it 'cause of the movies since the books are really a different thing all together 😉
 
I liked the books better than the films but films had their moments too... But, well, books are certainly better. Same case as in Lord of the Rings but that's a different story.
 
The films Id imagine are pretty bad without the books. cos they miss out so much, it would be hard to grasp the full meaning of whats going on.
 
What bother's me most is that the films (at least the first two and the third one in part too; haven't seen four) are films made especially for Children, while a lot of Adults are fans of the books as well... why couldn't they just make it a bit more adult. Moreover, the books seemed more threatning. I just re-watched the third one this weekend and I realised that the lack of any real kind of threat towards Harry bothered me. The Dementors were only there at some random moments and it wasn't like Sirius was made out to be super-present. Maybe it was because I already knew the plot... I hope four and onwards will be directing at a slightly older audience... I hope the PG-13 helps.
