Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows(SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!)

[waits anxiously for BoTD's retaliation that is inevitably coming] I didn't think the epilogue was as cheesy as I was expecting it to be after reading comments from here. I dont think it fit the rest of the book though.[/waiting]

Why, BoTD for your assumption of the book of course, and for your believe in Molly Weasley being the absolute best character..

I truly think I had an eyegasm when I read it.

For me this is not my favourite book, but it's good. It did drag on in the beginning. Where I didn't put down HBP, I found myself taking frequent breaks just to get through the repetiveness in the beginning.

I could've done without Fred dying, but George loosing his ear was a bit of foreshadowing to that, so it wasn't as big of a shock as Tonks and Lupin. That tore me to pieces. One of my worst fears as a parent is imagining my daughter growing up without her mom or dad. I also did not understand why Harry didn't raise Teddy, since he was his godfather and all. I expect a story surrounding him and Albus Severus, as they were given a bit more character than the other children. I would love to see a next gen Hogwarts story!

I hoped upon all hope that Snape was going to be good in the end and thankfully he was. Once again proving that love is the strongest magick of them all, his love for Lily was what allowed him to over come Voldemort.

I just finished reading a chat transcript with JK here:

All together, the book was good, but like I said not my personal favorite. Maybe it will come across better on screen as some of the parts seemed to be written especially for the movie.

Interesting points Evilyn, but on some of the earlier posts - a warning.

The subject of the thread is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. A lot of people would like to discuss it. It's better to stay on topic. That way the thread doesn't have to be closed.

Just wanted to check, cuz a few people have said it now, that they would have liked Harry to Raise Teddy, you do all remember Harry is 17 right?

People wondering about Teddy: I thought it much more natural for him to be brought up by Andromeda his grandmother, a la Neville, than Harry who is only seventeen and desperate for a normal life!
