Anybody else just about to wet their pants with excitement of the new HP book due to be released in 2-3 days? (metaphorically speaking of course...LOL)

Well, I am. I have lots of plans. I have my copy pre-ordered and I'm going to an early release party, Friday night. I can't wait! Starbucks is throwing a Honeyduke's party. They are going to decorate the place like Honeyduke's, the sweet shop in Hogsmeade from the books. They are going to be selling all sorts of wizarding treats...

Oh, it'll be fun to act like a kid...hehehe.

The dwarflets are just going nuts waiting (me too!!). I preordered thru amazon.ca, so it's gonna be delivered on Saturday, but I may scooch out tonight and pick up a second copy to prevent bloodshed...all I know is the kids will be sent to bed early at the slightest provocation...so I can read their copy! (I'm abusing my dad power here, but come on, it's Harry Potter!!!😉)

LOL, neither one of my parents will read the books. My dad won't because its not his thing (which is totally bogus because his favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz) and my mom refuses to read them for some strange reason because she is mad at J.K. Rowling. Something about if my mom had extra time on her hands she could write popular books like that...I don't know.

I'm also the only one out of my brothers or sister who reads the books so I don't really have to fight with anyone over the new book or steal it from somebody else. 😀

I actually ordered my copy through my college bookstore and we get like 40% off to buy it there and you can use some of the college bucks coupons to buy it also so its probably gonna cost me about $14.

Two copies sounds good though. 😉 I own two copies of all the other books except for The Prisoner of Azkaban. It's always good to have a spare.

That is terrible of you, i'm shocked. I honestly thought better of you lol. I've been like a kid at Christmas all day thinking that if I make myself tired i'll get to sleep early and it will be Saturday.

I ordered mine from Amazon as well and will be sitting up waiting on the postman tomorrow morning.

You can't get any better than absolute power...mwahahhaha!!!
I'll have to wait until Monday, gah, can't believe this. 'Cause my dad ordered it for me (he always does that lol, he's a fan too) and I guess it won't get here until Monday, hmm.. I might go to the bookstore and read the first chapter there, hiding behind the bookshelves, heh...

We pick up our copy plus one for the Grandaughter tomorrow - then it's time to decide who reads it first...I think it'll probably be me. Mrs P hates it when I sulk and pout 😉

Yay, got mine earlier this morning, I dragged myself away from it (only for a few moments) oh and i am lovin it!

CHAPTER 9 SPOILER RELEASE
OMG!! I can't believe that the half blood prince owned the potions book, I dont actually think he is a prince, more holds himself high as he is proud of his half bloodedness. I have a speculation that it may be the new minister for magic (only a speculation, I dont actually know). What do you guys rekon??

Im not a Harry Potter fan but what i've heard its pose to be a good book. Tell me if its good guys.

Got my copy in this afternoon. Gonna start reading right after this post!

I was pretty excited. I preordered it in January, but then noticed they hadn't dispatched it yesterday so I wouldn't get it today but on Monday. My sister got so mad she phoned the company, pretended to be me, cancelled the order and ran out to buy the book from the first place she could find. Weird... but have now read the book. I can't wait for the next!

Got mine today for 8.99 from WHSmith cos i preordered not started reading yet though as im at work, damn work!!!

My friend is going crazy about the book, and it even scared me. I wasn't all that exited for the book to come out. I'm not going to read it (unless my friend forces me to), because of what happened in the last book. Or there is something good in the book...But I did go to a party yesterday to celebrate it, and that was kinda fun. 🙂

I finished it at around 6pm. I ended up taking several hour breaks because I was reading it too fast and wanted to make it last.

It had the moments where I shouted 'No Way' outloud, I laughed and I cried. I can't wait for the next one although at the same time I don't want it to come as its the last one.

When did you buy the book, i bought mine at half one today and have been reading it for a few hours and am on chapter 10

I have never read any of the Harry Potter books. Many people are shocked by this, because I'm a teacher, and I love to read. I don't know why I've never read them. I own the first one, but I have never even opened it.

I think I don't read it because I've always got something else to read (I do read a lot of children's books/novels, but the lower aged ones, because I teach 1st grade). Also, the books aren't allowed in some schools. So, I've never encountered teachers talking about it in schools, because they can't read it or let students gets engaged in it at school.

But, with all the reviews, I keep telling myself that I need to start reading them!

Read them! I beg of you, read them! LOL!
My mom just got home with it!! She's abusing her power though. She is taking it to work with her!!! Oh well I get to read it...the only thing I don't like is in a couple days I'll be done it and have to wait years for the next one!

Teachers not encouraging kids to read - has the world gone mad? Well, I guess the answer is that it has...

Why on earth would schools not allow these books? I could understand them banning many other books (though I wouldn't necessarily agree with that for older kids) but Harry Potter? I know fundamentalists don't like them and come up with all sorts of nonsense about leading kids into Satanism and all that bollocks but when you actually read them you can see that there is a very definite sense of what is Good and what is Evil. I thought (as well as being a great read) that they are very moral.

Don't get me started on fundamentalists and The Simpsons...who put the Mental in fundamentalist? 😉

Rant over...
