Harshest quotes

Faith: I missed the mark last night and I'm sorry about the guy, I really am! But it happens! Anyways, how many people do you think we've saved by now? Thousands? And didn't you stop the world from ending? Because in my book, that puts you and me in the plus column. (From Consequences)

I can never figure out who I feel most sorry for. Faith is clearly hurting, but she's trying to act like she doesn't care so she won't. And so she comes off as a real bitca to Buffy. It's just so sad.
In conjunction with that one, a good one from Bad Girls:

Buffy: Faith, you don't get it! You killed someone!
Faith: No, you don't get it. I don't care.

And the Weslah moment when Lilah dresses up like Fred. And she goes to take off the glasses and Wesley's just like, 'Leave them on." I mean, ag! That must have torn Lilah up.

I'm not sure if it's harsh, but Faith scared me when she says she and Buffy is better than other people.
Buffy: Mom, what are you doing?
Joyce (angrily): I'm making breakfast. You shouldn't eat anymore, you're disgustingly fat! Joyce: Don't touch me!

Joyce: Don't touch me! You- you thing!
Dawn: Mom? Please!
Joyce: Get away from me! You're nothing! You're- you're a shadow! I don't what you are; how you got here!

I don't know if it's harsh, but I felt bad for them.

yeah...i felt really sorry for both Buffy and Dawn. Poor Joyce!

harsh indeed. But the boy deserved it...

Agreed, but he did deserve it. The little whelp...

I don't think he deserved it. He was psychologically traumatized from spending his ENTIRE life in one of the worst demon dimension in the universe.
Angel: "You took me places, showed me things, you blew the top off my head. But you never made me happy."

Maybe I just think it's harsh because I'm all for Dangelus, that's possible too 😀

Edit:
MinwaraYana agrees: I think it's harsh because Darla loved him. ^_^

Exactly 🙂

I think Darla is confusing the idea of love in her head...it is harsh cause Angel has that ironic smile in this scene...but yeah he's being honest
The signs? READ ME THE SIGNS! TELL ME MY FORTUNE! YOU'RE SO USEFUL SITTING HERE WITH ALL YOUR BOOKS! YOU'RE REALLY A LOTTA HELP!

And from the same scene, in response to Angel's trying to comfort Buffy: "What do you know? You're never going to die!"

"You're just... You're just convenient." -Buffy, Wrecked

Truer words were never spoken. 😉

E

I won't disagree with Buffy but it is harsh to tell someone you spent the night with that he was "convenient"...
Angel: No, you're not listening! Cordelia is not a champion. She is a rich girl from Sunnydale who likes to play superhero. She doesn't have what it takes to do this! Don't the Powers get that? Stop whispering and listen to me, damn it! She's weak.

That was really OOC for me. I know he was trying to save her, but still very harsh to say after everything she went through.
Hank: I came early because there's something I've needed to tell you. About your mother and me. Why we split up.
BUFFY: Well, you always told me it was because...
Hank: Uh, I know we always said it was because we'd just grown too far apart.
BUFFY: Yeah, isn't that true?
Hank: Well, c'mon, honey, let's, let's sit down. You're old enough now to know the truth.
BUFFY: Is there someone else?
Hank: No. No, it was nothing like that.
BUFFY: Then what was it?
Hank: It was you.
BUFFY: Me?
Hank: Having you. Raising you. Seeing you everyday. I mean, do you have any idea what that's like?
BUFFY: What?
Hank: Gosh, you don't even see what's right in front of your face, do you? Well, big surprise there, all you ever think about is yourself. You get in trouble. You embarrass us with all the crazy stunts you pull, and do I have to go on?
BUFFY: No. Please don't.
Hank: You're sullen and... rude and... you're not nearly as bright as I thought you were going to be... Hey, Buffy, let's be honest. Could you stand to live in the same house with a daughter like that?
BUFFY: Why are you saying all these things? (a tear rolls down her cheek)
Hank: Because they're true. I think that's the least we owe one another. (She begins to sniff and cry) You know, I don't think it's very mature, getting blubbery when I'm just trying to be honest. Speaking of which, I don't really get anything out of these weekends with you. So, what do you say we just don't do them anymore? I sure thought you'd turn out differently.

Cordelia to Buffy: This conversation is reserved for people who actually have a future. (cruel since Slayers die young)

Xander to Buffy: I guess a guy has to be dead to spend any time with you.

Buffy: Do you actually have parents?
Cordelia: Yeah, two of them. Unlike some people.

Willow to Dawn: You cry because you used to be human but you weren't always. Are you telling me you don't remember? You used to be this energy ball. Do you want me to turn you back? End the pain? You'd be better off. I'd be better off. We'd all be better off without having to listen to your constant whining. Mom! Buffy! Tara! Wah!

Willow to Buffy: I know you were happier when you were in the ground. The only time you were ever at peace in your whole life is when you were dead.

Cordelia to Buffy: I don't need the loony fringe vote. (a few months prior Buffy had been in the psych ward for several weeks)

Willow to Anya: I just thought you might be interested in learning how to act more human. You know some of us enjoy it.

Joyce to Buffy: I wanted a normal, happy daughter. Instead I got a Slayer.

The Hank/Buffy scene really was harsh even though it was just a manifested nightmare. :(

The Hank/Buffy is heartbreaking, maybe cos it hits close to home
Cordelia to Buffy: This conversation is reserved for people who actually have a future. (cruel since Slayers die young)

Buffy: Do you actually have parents?
Cordelia: Yeah, two of them. Unlike some people.

Cordelia to Buffy: I don't need the loony fringe vote. (a few months prior Buffy had been in the psych ward for several weeks)

It's quotes like this that make me hate Cordelia with a fiery passion no matter what she became later in life. Although she never really got rid of that arrogant holier-than-thou attitude.

^ Yeah those quotes were really harsh. Making fun of someone's parents being divorced is not bitchy or funny. It is cruel.

And also the quote by Angel about Cordy..."she's not a champion"...yeah maybe she was never meant to be(if Doyle lived she would never get the visions) but she was always there for Angel. She gave up half her human nature to be able to watch the visions.

Angel wasn't trying to be cruel with that quote. He wasn't talking to Cordelia and didn't know that she was listening. He was trying to get someone to believe that Cordelia wasn't a "Champion" (hate the use of that word in AtS) so that the visions and damage they caused on her body would be taken away. He was saying it to save her life but hearing that part (she didn't stay for the rest of his speech) is what ultimately killed her since it caused her to fall for that fake alt-world, then become part-demon, and then believe she was a "higher being" and then be possessed by Jasmine, give birth to Jasmine, end up in a coma, and die without ever really waking up.

Willow: Yeah, because Xander doesn't step out of line.

Rona: Ding dong, the witch is dead (she just helped kick Buffy out of Buffy's home after she took them all in and fed and probably clothed them, trained them, protected them)

Spike: Don't you get it. You came back WRONG.

Willow (imitating Xander): Poor me. I live in a basement. Yeah, that's dire.

Dawn: Mom died and it's like you don't even care.
Buffy: Of course I care. How can you even think that?!
Dawn: How can I not?! You haven't even cried. You've just been running around like its some big chore. Cleaning up after mom's mess.

Omg Rona... another reason for me to dislike the Potentials.
I know he wasn't trying to be cruel. But the expression in Cordy's face was painful to watch. She misunderstood the meaning of his words.

I don't like Spike calling Buffy "an animal"...And I don't like the"you belong to the darkness with me". Just because she is depressed and desparate doesn't mean she is like him!!! Also the "you came beack wrong" is perhaps one of the quotes that convinced Buffy she is not the same person anymore. That sth is wrong with her.

Buffy to Xander and Willow in season 4 when Spike was turning the Scoobies against each other:

" What could you possibly do?" ouch.

and Cordy to Buffy:

Buffy: Do you actually have parents?
Cordelia: Yeah, two of them. Unlike some people.

That was totally uncalled for. Having divorced parents myself I felt for Buffy then.

I agree with the Cordy quote. It's so hard to forgive Cordelia's bitchiness when you look back at the terrible things she's said.
Giles to Buffy: You don't train with me anymore. Adam is going to kick your ass!

Buffy: Do you have to do those every morning?
Riley: It's a good way to start the morning.
Buffy: Yeah, and then you could have your perfectly balanced breakfast and then you can call your mother.

Spike to Buffy: I knew the only thing better than killing a Slayer would be ****ing one. (he meant it in a pro-Buffy way but she was offended)

Oh I also hate that Spike quote!!! To me it proves there are not true feelings there...
It was hilarious for us but I doubt Buffy wanted to laugh hearing her mentor say that to her. Seriously, can you imagine if you were going to go fight an emeny and your substitute father glibly says you are going to get your ass kicked?

...
From "Innocence", this always makes a pit in my stomach:

Xander: Willow, we were just kissing. It doesn't mean that much.
Willow: No. It just means that you'd rather be with someone you hate than be with me.

and in AtS, from "Forgiving"

Angel: Hey, Wes. I just - I want you to know I understand why you did it. I know about the prophecies and I know how hard it must have been for you to... do what you did. You thought I was gonna turn evil and kill my son. I didn't. It's important you know that. This isn't Angelus talking. It's me, Angel. You know that, right?
[Wesley blinks his eyes once]
Angel: Good.
[grabs a pillow and shoves it down on Wes' face]
Angel: Son of a bitch, you're gonna pay for what you did! You took my son! You son of a bitch! You bastard! You think I'd forgive you? Never! You're gonna die! You hear me? You're gonna pay!
Orderly: [tries to drag Angel off of Wesley] Hey!
Angel: [throws him off] You took my son, YOU TOOK MY SON!
Fred: Stop it!
Angel: You took my son!
Charles Gunn: Angel, stop!
[Gunn and the orderlies begin to drag Angel away with success]
Angel: Never! Never!
Charles Gunn: Come on, man! Stop!
Angel: I'll kill you! You're dead! You're a dead man, Pryce! You're dead! I'll kill you! I'll kill you! You're a dead man! Dead! Dead!

Then, when Wesley rescues Angel in "Deep Down", wow.

I felt so sorry for Willow when she caught the guy she crushed on for YEARS kissing the resident bitch that picked on her. I think of that scene from Forgiving when watching Sanctuary. Angel is a hypocrite.

She didn't mean to sound harsh. What she said was the truth. He hadn't atoned yet. If he died then it would be without having earned his divine forgiveness and without having finished becoming a fully fledged person.
Buffy [to Spike]: There is nothing good or clean in you. You are dead inside! You can't feel anything real! I could never be your girl!

I agree. I know Spuffy was "dangerous" (for lack of a better word), but god, Buffy was so mean to him... And he just takes it...
