cheers 🙂

Edit:

opps the thread title is meant to say, *anyone* read...
just incase that confused people 😛

this is the wrong forum for this topic, but i'm sure a Mod will move it when they get a minute...they're very busy people, you know. lol

as for the books, you're safe to buy pretty much anything my Christopher Golden, he's without a doubt my fave BTVS novel writer. i seriously reccomend 'The Lost Slayer' and 'Spike and Dru: Pretty Maids All In A Row' and 'Monster Island'

Nancy Holder is a good one to go for as well, especially 'The Book Of Fours' nad 'Endangered Species'

but whatever you decide to buy stay away from 'Queen of The Slayers' that book will only confuse you and probably make you not want to read anymore! lol

ooh, i've been waiting for this book for months. can't wait to read it. thanks for the link, N4H!

I love both Nancy Holder and Christopher Golden but I have to disagree, I think Queen of the Slayers is really good. I am getting Dark Congress on Friday. My book store is holding their only copy for me, unless it's just their last copy. She said she had 1. Yay me for calling and reserving. I will let you know how it is.

The one I heard was supposed to stink was one called "Chosen". Never read it myself, so I don't know, but I bet it has it's fans too.

Eek - yes, definitely avoid IMO. Bits missing if memory serves and my edition was full of a ridiculous amount of typos; I just gave up in the end. It's just much more fun to watch Season Seven 🙂

"Chosen"

Don't waste your time on it unless you want a rather skimpy rehash of Season 7. Each chapter is an episode, rather poorly converted to print.

oh yeah, totally agree. 'Chosen' sucks. how can you squeeze so much stuff into a book? it just doesn't do the season justice. and if my memory serves, it's full of typos because they rushed to get it into print in time...can't remember exactly why it needed to be in print so quickly, but those typos were so obvious, someone should have spotted them.

I get a twitching eye when I read or think about "Chosen". It's story is exactly season 7, and then chock full of major typos that will just drive you bonkers!

I agree with the books by Christopher Golden. He's a pretty good Buffy novel writer. The other ones that I really like are:

The Gatekeeper Trilogy
The Wisdom of War
The Book of Fours

Some of the others are just an entertaining read, you have to take them with a grain of salt. But the CG ones and the ones I listed above are my favorites!

UH! Queen of the Slayers was awesome. And the Dark Willow trilogy, if you liked Dark Wil as much as I did. Hehe. Also, Go Ask Malice is a very good book. It's about before she was a Slayer. I read it in a day it was so good!

I have yet to read any of the Buffy novels that I actually thought was well done; all of them, in fact, were pretty poor, IMO. Although, I suspect a good part of that can be laid to S&S's unfathomable belief that the books should be targeted for the "young adult" audience (and then not understanding that a book for "young adults" doesn't necessarily have to be written on a sixth-grade reading level...)

Someone should sit them down, and make them read Harry Potter. ;)
I have 17 Buffy books and friday I will pick up dark congress, and I have only 1 angel novel, but of course I mentioned the crossover novel 'Cursed.' I have yet to ready any of them. Well besides Queen of the Slayers. Go ask Malice is one of them. I am just a lazy reader, I need motivation. But either way I am still glad I have them all. As soon as I get dark congress tho I am going to start that and I think I will hit Go Ask Malice today. I try to get only Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder books but sometimes stray and I think for good reasons, because there are many good authors out there. Anyways, if anyone has any other good books to share, I would love to know of them.

I will look out for the gatekeeper trilogy and the book of fours too.

cheers everyone, im looking forward to buying some, i guess il just have to find out for myself what i like, but il defiantly check out Christopher Golden.
il let you know what i buy and how i get on, cheers

I have read a few , The Book of Fours is good and also Go Ask Malice, I really didnt like the Queen of the Slayers. I have Chosen but from what everyone says I will give it a miss!
