I saw them at the book store today, fairly cheap (NZ$18.99)

Wanted to know what its like, Where in the Buffy timeline is it placed?

I saw them the other day when I was in Books-A-Million, the second volume was sitting on the "buy two and get the third one" free shelf. If they had of had the first volume sitting there beside it, I might have actually thought to splurge on it. lol.
 
Basically, they're just re-printings of books that came out sometime around S2. I think the idea is to re-print all the novels in collections like this, thus making it possible to read all the novels in canonical order. After Image and Bad Bargain are two of the later books, written about two years after the show ended.

I've read all of them...in fact, I think I still have most of them somewhere. They're aren't really all that great. Halloween Rain is probably the best out of those six, but as far as I can remember, Bad Bargain was shockingly awful.

I found these the other day and was tempted to get them, since they were really cheap. Anyone know if they're reprinting all the novels?

I think they might be waiting before they decide to see how well these sell, but I imagine that's the idea.

They're novels, but their not considered canon. I think they all had to be run through Whedon's company, but they don't reference them in the shows or anything.
 
None of the writers of the show, really, except Rebecca Rand Kirshner did a short story for one of the 'Tales of the Slayers' collections.

But some of the are excellent.'The Lost Slayer', 'Book of Fours', 'Monster Island' and 'The Unseen Trilogy' are some of my all time favorite novels, period.

Anything by Nancy Holder or Christopher Golden can usually be guaranteed to be a good read, except Holder's 'Queen of the Slayers' which was so astonishingly bad I've hidden it at the back of the closet, never again to see the light of day.
 
Immortal is really good too. As is The Sins of the Father and what was the name of the one that had the vampire Vampire Slayer? That's good too.

I second this very much! (Also the bit about Queen of the Slayers. I'm STILL trying to get rid of it on a bookswapping site but nobody wants it xD)

The Gatekeeper trilogy by Golden and Holder is also fantastic. Also, The Evil That Men Do, again by Holder. I also liked Ghoul Trouble by John Passarella a lot.
 
Oh, and 'Endangered Species' is a good read, too, but that's Ats not Btvs.

The Wicked Willow Trilogy is also good, it's like an alternate S7...or maybe it should be seen more as an extending ending of S6, seeing as how it finishes exactly how S6 ended.

The novelization of the video game 'Chaos Bleeds' is good...and the other one in that three book epic I have, about the Slayer and Spike during the Jack the Ripper time. Can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

I read these years ago. I still have a couple of them on my bookshelf. I honestly can't remember if they are any good or not, but I don't think they were that bad. I think I enjoyed some of them more than others. I think it is pretty cool that they are getting re-released.
 
I read these when they were originally printed, back in the late 90's and early 2000's. "Halloween Rain" was my favorite; the others were 'eh'.

I got all three from amazon.com for $9.99 each. I haven't started reading them yet, but I have read a few of the originally printed versions and I thought they were pretty good.
