When the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" was being filmed at the college here in Rome, there was a wedding scene that required some local extras. No, I wasn't in it, but our son and his then girl friend were. Anybody else had either yourself or a family member dance across the silver screen?

OMG i loved that movie :)
I love that movie. Sadly, no, never been on screen. I did get to be on stage during the school musical when I was a senior. And I wasn't in the cast. I was on the stage crew and part of the show required the set to fall (it was a false wall). It was for the play within the play, lol. The person on stage is supposed to be in a play but all the rest of the crew is sneaking out so you see them go past the window and at the end of the monologue the wall falls (with him standing in the doorway). I got stuck kneeling behind the wall for 10 minutes holding it up. The thing weighed a ton (8x12 feet with 1/4 plywood on it). Ugh. Then when we dropped it we all had to stand up and look surprised and scurry off the stage. It was fun and totally unexpected for me. I almost broke my leg getting off the stage, though. I went around the curtain and tripped over the support for the rest of the set and slammed my shin into a table. It hurt like hell the rest of the night. Not as bad as the girl that fell off of said set (8 foot drop) or the kid on the crew that cut his finger off with the circular saw. Good times.

No, despite having done a number of (mostly college) theater productions. They do film the occasional movie locally, but I never hear about it until after the fact. It seems that a certain clique of locals have the inside track for anything like that - usually the same people who have their fingers in local government - and everyone else won't even be considered (with a few exceptions. Several of my acquaintances had roles in Coal Miner's Daughter, but again, I didn't hear about the casting call until afterwards.) I can't even get an audition at any of the local established theaters - but two or three of the local "movers and shakers" have their entire families cast every season. They're not particularly good, but I guess you don't have to be if you're part of the right crowd...

I've been in my own productions for University which means absolutely nothing.
I have been on TV a few times though. I was in a very unsuccessful Reality TV show here in the UK.

I may have told some of you😉

Which show?????
Not too many movies filmed around here! I've been on TV a few times though. Justanotherjen, I feel your pain! At my high school rock estedford I was on the backstage crew and we had huge rolling wall sets 5metres high made of plywood. Our crew was nominated for best stage crew award but while we were loading the sets back on to the truck, one of the wheels broke and fell putting 2 people in hospital. I saw it falling and ran out of the way and was lucky to get away unhurt. Taught us a lesson though, They now only use canvas with wood frames. Sorry off topic!

Then you've never seen Castaway then:)
Oh, I wasn't in a movie exactly, but I was one of the witches for Halloween's "mystics Show" edition in 2001. Later, filmed movie for diploma. Last year's St.Pat's Day I appeared on TV again as one of celebrators - I was dressed in medieval stle green dress, so I was quite in the spirit of the day. Also, Last year I spent in participation in videos dedicated to major Celtic holidays.

karma for the paddy love:)
Well, I'm an actress, so obviously I have been in things, but none of them have been mainstream yet unfortunately (But hey, I'm only in my 20s; there's time). Except for like random extra-age for random things. But last year I was in Red Traffic about human trafficking, but that's definitely more indie film and isn't going to be released mainstream. Should be floating around the film festivals though :-D. Hahaha.

you're an actress!? wow! thats amazing!
I was in a commercial back when I was an actor freshman year of college. I was awesome in it. I was also in some plays and stuff like that but nothing major. I did audition for some slasher movie that was shot here but I didn't get the part.

Bangelxx: Wow you're an actress? That's amazing!"

White Avenger- Yeah, you'd better be lookin! Haha. Although just so you know my screen name *will* not be Slayer Comma The. Just so you know. Hehe.
Bangelxx- I'm glad you think it's so amazing. Gave me a happy. :-D. But yes, I am. I write as well, but acting was and is always my first love. Things that happen on the acting jobs just happen to give me writing material! haha. I liked to think of myself as Finola Hughes-esque in that sense. Only without the long-running part on a soap. But who knows? Haha

Your stage name wouldn't possibly Julia Roberts, would it? 'Cause I've always wanted to meet you if it is.
Myself: No.

However,my younger brother was cast as an extra in The Natural(which filmed up here in Buffalo back in the day). He tried out for the role of the bat boy,but didn't get that part.

My agent says I'm not allowed to disclose such information online .::shifty look::.

lol! i can't picture Julia Roberts being an obsessed Buffy fan...xD
When my husband and I were in Vegas last June, they were filming the movie "Iron Man" (which I think comes out in either the summer or the fall), and you could stand in the crowd behind the filming in Ceasar's Palace. We were walking through and stopped for a few minutes, but we were behind a lot of people, so I highly doubt you'll see us onscreen 🙂

I was in high school plays though...that's about my only claim to fame!

i saw a crew filming the reality 'airline' on A&E at BWI airport in baltimore.

i wasnt in it......which was a good thing if you have ever seen this show.

No, I wish. lol. If I lived in Boulder, Colorado where my dad lives I may have been able to be in Catch and Release with Jennifer Garner, but the extras casting was done a month before I was there and they were done filming a couple days before I got there. 🙁 Oh well. I have a friend who was an extra in a Brad Pitt movie (although I don't know if they actually used the part she was in or not.)

I've been on TV twice! The first time I was interviewed about the second Harry Potter movie because I was at the Australian premiere and in costume (don't laugh I was 10), my brother also got interviewed but where they showed all 5 minutes of my interview they showed him for about 30 seconds! lol! The second time was last year during the Australian Federal election. I'm a member of the junior labor party and I was working on the campaign all day so I got to go to the after party, the news crew for channel 9 (which had the main coverage of the election), were there and ready to interview our member of parliment when it was announced that he'd won his seat, and they wanted some people in our Kevin 07 t-shirts to stand in the background cheering, they decided to put me in between the reporter and Shane (the politician) probably because I was the youngest person there and also the most hyper!

My friend and I were extras in "Walk the Line". And a classmate was cast as Cash's sister in it too, they cut out all of her lines except one, when she wakes him up and says something like "You're gonna miss your bus". She really overacted that one freaking line, too.

I haven't even seen the whole movie though because I'm not a big Johnny Cash fan.
