Have you met James?

Share experiences here! I know a lot of people have met him recently, and in the past. I met him today. This was the only picture I could get of him:

He was really nice. Shook my hand twice because the first time I was shaking and he kinda laughed at me. I told him that I hate Spike. He said Joss did too, and he wasn't all too fond of post s4 Spike, but he still loved the job. But you can't have a villain try to kill Buffy every week and fail, because he becomes pathetic, or he succeeds and there's no show. I told him I still really respect him, and I don't think anyone would have been better as Spike. I said it was just like Dawn, who I hated, but (and here he cut me off and got defensive saying that Michelle got way too much hate for someone her age) I really respected that she didn't try to change how she played Dawn. I think she did wonderfully as Dawn, and that she made me hate the character, but I could never hate her. Or him, even though I don't like Spike.

I told him Zoà« was probably his biggest fan, and he smiled a little and wrote something extra on her comic for me. He didn't write Bite me! on anyone else's things that I saw today.

I was kinda bummed I didn't get to meet Mark Metcalf though. He left before I got there. Oh well. I went for James. Mission Accomplished.

Oh, and I know he's older now, but he's still freaking gorgeous. He's aging very well! And OMG his eyes... They're so beautiful!

I did recently meet him too and it was awesome! I wrote about it in my own thread but maybe now I can be a little more articulate.



Backstory - while waiting in line we discovered that the girl in front of us in line was also named Laura.


James: (shakes hubby's hand) Hey man, what's up?
Hubby: Not much man. (Motions to me) She's really nervous.
James: Oh, I love that.
Me: *big dumb grin
James: Am I making this out to someone?

And he looked at the sticky note that said Laura on it and I saw he was confused and I remembered that the girl ahead of us was named Laura.

Me: Oh yeah, I'm Laura too.
James: Oh! Ok, well that's a dirty trick to play on someone so early in the day!
Me: *chuckles . .. yeah (then he shook my hand)
James: So are you guys coming to my show tonight?
Hubby: Well, we'd like to but we have some family obligations.
James: Hey that's cool man. Family is really good. *elaborates on his family and how great things are going for him

He started to sign my woodburning while he was talking about all of this and this is when he stopped and

James: Did you make this?
Me: . . . yeah
James: Jesus . . .

And then continued to sign. Pretty sure he then told us something about enjoying our day.

Super super awesome. He was really really focused on me and hubby the whole time he talked to us.

And when I did the photo op he said he was glad that I was there and shook my hand. We struck the pose and he shook my hand again and thanked me for coming.

Yeah, he's really nice. What's weird though, is now that the hubby has met James he's way more understanding about my Spike attraction. 😀

I went to one of James' concerts in London in 2010, and had a photo op. Unfortunately Froggy lost/deleted the pic before it was sent out so I never got it. 🙁 I'm still angry and bitter about that, but I don't let it taint the experience of meeting James, which was fantastic.

I got hit by the 'James fog' (official term don't you know) and can't really remember much of what I said to him and vice versa, but he was really nice. Amazing eyes, and a very intense stare. And he's still really hot. 😛

We went to the concert for my sister's birthday so when she met him, asked him to say Happy Birthday to her. He did, and also told her she was 'too hot to be seventeen'...

I really wish his next UK event wasn't so expensive cos I want my photo with him again and to have proof of it this time, lol.

I was saying on twitter... I've met a slew of celebrities. I've never shaken at meeting ANY of them. Even when I was 15 and (almost literally) ran into my then favorite rock star and hung out with him for a while. But looking James in the eye made me blush and shake. When he looks at you, he's definitely focusing on you.

I've not met James yet. But when I do, it will be awesome. I kind of really can't wait. I've heard nothing but amazing things about him and I can't wait to see for myself. Apparently he has this way of making every fan he meets feel like they're the most important person to him in that moment. I want to feel that so bad!

[MENTION=7738]OccaQuokka[/MENTION] and I met him earlier this year at Perth Supanova. He was handsome, but not quite as friendly as Charisma Carpenter and Amy Acker. Both of the ladies were just so lovely and sweet. James just seemed a little bit over it all. I guess he was much busier and said a few times that he was trying to get people signed and finished with quickly to work through the queue. With Charisma and Amy it didn't feel so much like they just wanted it over and done with.

James signed my photo with Bite Me on it to. He told me that he writes Bite Me on all of them.

His handler / bouncer was awesome.

He had three separate events at MOCC. It seemed like he was really anxious, but it didn't really feel like he just wanted to get through the line. He still took the time to talk to people.
