Head scarves/ face coverings

Where do you buy these? I have realised I might be more active outside if I have a head and optional facial covering while in the sun, dust and diesel of the season. I looked in all of the shops yesterday with no luck 🙁 I like brighter colours or patterns and don't have much to spend. What kind of material is most comfortable for those that wear these daily?

I have been using sarongs, which work ok and are a great weight, but I am tangled more often than not when I try to cover my face. Is there a trick to how to fold them? I don't do well looking on youtube/google for answers haha.

Sort of, I feel that type would get in the way. Like a long beard. I would prefer something I can fold up and down when needed, although I guess I could tuck that in the t-shirt and it would work if the ties were elastic. Thanks for the link though cos I have seen some others on the site that look right and are very pretty colours!

Would it be an issue to wear those specific coverings without the religious connotations?

Yeah, I live in the middle of nowhere so I guess no one would complain. It'd give the neighbours something new to gossip about.

The only thing I could think of is a niqab. I've seen shorter ones, but I couldn't find them on Amazon. Found this Twitter account but it seems to be mostly in Arabic.

I don't think it's offensive since you're not wearing it to make fun of a religious group.

I chose some pretty thing, signed up, got through the address stuff, and find that Amazon doesn't ship to Oz. Now I am on the .au website with far less, more expensive pretties 🙁 With a warning that they wont arrive til next year. Internet shopping is as stressful as real life shopping! How does anyone enjoy this?

I know what you mean. I bought that new Buffy comic for kids to read to my little girls and it never arrived. I sent the seller a message in Amazon and they promised to send another copy but didn't give me a date for the arrival. I really hope I wasn't robbed as there's no refund!

Mum brought me a peter alexander sleep cap with lop ears on. Xander didn't notice (typical male), Anya would not come near me. I had to train her that it was not a magic hat, it did not transform me into a giant bunny, and I don't bite. Now she kisses them like she is grooming Xanders ears. Silly Bunny.

OOH I wonder if the pink ears would help scare away the feral town bunnies! Screw the virus, the Giant Naked Bunny lives here! Run away run away!

Anyway, today I dragged out a Rio Dejaneiro sarong that worked pretty well. It has tassels so I could tie it over my face when needed. I only strangled myself once. Its pretty tatty, Anya tried to eat chew the Jesus statues head off.

I found a Kari Traa headband in my dresser drawer the other day, no idea how it got there! But it seemed like a good head covering. Might be a little hot in the heat though.
