So what is you idea of paradise . is it floaty clouds and golden gates , or is it something different? What would your paradise be like?

What would hell be like , something out of Dantes Inferno or little Nicky? What would your Idea of Hell be like?

My idea of heaven is somewhere, I never need to sleep, where I can wish for anything I want and its there, I meet all my ancestors. It would probably look like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory combined with a book store that gives away gingerbread lattes. I can see all my pets again, a place where no one judges you. a place I will never be ashamed or frightened.

Hell would be a place where Bon Jovi plays non stop, everyone smokes, I cannot understand anyone. Everyday is like being back in school. Most of all my alone in the world with no one terrifying ! A place where flowers don't grow and everything is filthy. No matter how loud I scream no one can hear me . A place of no rest or peace.

Awesome sig! :) And I like your heaven, can I go there too? :p
I believe that both heaven and hell will be tailored to the particular resident, a place where he or she can enjoy the rewards or endure the punishments that they earned in life. For instance, I believe that Michael Vick will spend eternity fighting in a ring while hundreds of pit bulldogs cheer him on and place bets on the winner.

For me, heaven would be eternity with all of my friends and family, plus being able to meet and talk to men and women who were actual witnesses and participants in all of the events in history that have always fascinated me. And, of course, all of my my old pets, the dogs and horses that shared so much of my life will be there. To quote Theodore Roosevelt, "I have no intention of going to any heaven where there are no horses."

Maybe I could even get to ride a few "happy trails" with Roy and Trigger.

love your heaven! :)
I don't believe in heaven or hell, but I understand what you're getting at, Rho Rho.

'Heaven' for me would have constant music playing, all my favourite, most meaningful songs, I would be in a constant state of euphoria (drug-free), and I'd probably need to lose some of my memory, and Sharlene would have to be there, otherwise I'd only have half a soul.

And 'Hell' would be like being on the Jeremy Kyle show.

Oh. This is easy.

Heaven = Spending all the time with Christine.:: inlove

Hell = Not being able to have any contact with Christine what so ever.

Ok, ok. I know that´s a bit one sided. But can you blame me? Crazy in love and with the scare the computer gave me earlier today when it died, it sure felt like hell. Add to that the fact that distance suck incredibly hard!!!

Ok, ok. I know what you´re gonna say. Spending every second with someone will get boring/tiredsome or what ever after a while. But this is heaven. That great feeling that I have right now (or would if she was here with me) is how I´ll feel the whole time. So, definite heaven.

Maybe I´ll add something more "general" sometimes but this is definitely how I feel right now.

Spending every second with someone seems fair from boring.. doesnt seem long enough in some cases.
Heaven-A little house far away from people were i could live on my own with a few animals (horse, dogs stuff like that) with internet access and for my friends to come around when i want and have fun and a giggle with them! like old times 🙁

Hell-a room full of nosy people asking me questions over and over and getting in my personal space!

And yet, you spend so much time in the IRC? Strange....

- Heaven like I'd want it: Playing whole the time music that I want, eating so much you want and not getting fat, the most important: seeing your dead family & friends & pets again, watching over the ones who live, having the looks of my young age and not of my old; this includes that IF I'd die old I'd still look young in heaven, and last but not least; being together with my eventually, potential, future husband and children like forever... when they die.

- Heaven like I think it is if it exists: Feeling the presence of everyone you want, if that makes sence.

- Hell like I think it is: Everywhere fire, a satan, all the evil creatures in mythology and stuff (Seth (Egypt), the snake of the garden of Eden (bible)...)

Dante's Inferno really does sum up my vision of Hell, weirdly enough. I don't know if that's my Catholic upbringing, or just impression at a young age.

My Heaven is the same as wa's, tailored to what my personal vision of paradise would be. I'm kinda eclectic in taste and get bored easily, so I'd have to have something with changeable scenery and new things to explore....experiences, I guess. My Grandma would be there, too, to make Harvey Wallbanger cakes and Melody Casseroles with me! Those were the best...I miss her so much.

Heaven is however each individual percieves it in my imagining. Like if you imagine the heavenly-cloud existence you'll get it, etc etc. I personally also thought of it as whatever you want, whenever you want, anything you imagine is possible. You can live where you like, eat what you like (without gaining weight), look as you like, do what you like (and do it well!) and be with all your past, present and future family and friends and havin

Hell....I don't really spend too much time thinking about that to be honest, but I feel it would be a place where constant horrors were set upon you until your humanity was stripped away....leaving you a shell demon thing but always with a memory of your former self to torture you further. Okay....I've kinda wigged myself out now

Well, I'm pretty convinced that the earth we live in now is Hell. It just is, We are already in Hell. I don't know if I believe in a heaven, but I DO believe in ghosts. But my heaven would basically be a sleep. A long "dream" like state where I see deceased people, and animals, that I once knew cause I want to see them again And just complete happiness. Because lord knows that's not possible on earth!

unless you have sex with Buffy of course! 😛

Heaven.... well that would pretty much be this world, but with all the health, power, money, time and resources at your disposal to see it all, and all the war, pain, disease and damage gone. To just spend eternity, chilling in the Alps in a log cabin one week, skiing down to the village for a hot chocolate, then scuba diving in Mauritius the next week, coming home and restocking your fridge from Waitrose with all the luxury stuff in your beautiful (TIDY!!) home, watching films in your home cinema, then thinking 'hey, let's go to that romantic restaurant in New York we went to in June' and hop on your private jet (or, teleport!) ..... that would be heaven. So basically I need to be stinking rich with a pair of blinkers on. Or a powerful wiccan.

Hell.... pretty much what I have now!

I am so shallow. I just want power and MONEY!

but in the utopian society of which you speak, money is null & void as all are equal. Maybe it's not money & power but equality & freedom of the utopian life disguised as money & power as that is the easiest to see this one lacks.

Me too! I just want the $$ and to boss everyone around.
It would be really nice if there were something like heaven (and hell), but I can't really believe it, to be honest. But it would be cool to go somewhere where I wasn't scared to talk to people, where I had plenty of friends, a lovely boyfriend and my family near (but not too near) and where there were loads of clothingstores, and loads of money for me, where the weather was always lovely and where there were loads of guinea pigs running around and noone was alergic to them. Oh, and I could go to all the concerts I wanted. That would be pretty much heaven for me.
Hell would be pretty much where and what I'm living now. But, if it has to be after-life Hell, it would be something like reliving the wors moments of your life, untill you forget that there actually were any good moments. Something ike a very nasty nightmare.

Loving the Lindsey av! You know how to get in with the mods, don't you? ;)
Re:

Interesting thread chica! My own little paradise would have lots of beautiful men and women running around for my eyes to feast on, a never-ending supply of tacos and shrimp...LOL. An unlimited supply of Lipton Tea and Diet Dew, And I'd run around in my most comfortable pajamas and slippers all day long. There would be alternating (NEW)episodes of Buffy and True Blood playing all day, and a neverending supply of music for me to access whenever I want. My daughter and puppy dog would play in the flower fields and chase rainbows all day while I chased after the unsuspecting beautiful people....MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Hell would be me working a never ending shift at work...

For me heaven is not only a place of peaceness and a place where your wishes come true but also a location where all the people are you love
And hell is for me a dark place filled with sadness, angrieness and the peoples you hate

My heaven would be a place filled with my family & friends, and every animal imaginable. And I can talk to the animals & they can talk to me. Nobody is ever angry, nobody is ever fearful, & nobody is ever mean. I can swim with the dolphins in my dolphin form, or fly with the pelicans & go diving for fish, & then I can be a fish & yet not fear the pelicans 😀 I will be with every pet I've ever loved & they will all *frolic* along happily every day, all day. There will beautiful sunrises & sunsets every day... the oceans will all be clean & free of debris & the lakes & rivers & mountains will all be beautiful & serene & calm & I can go to anywhere I want in the blink of an eye (kinda *Jeanie* like!)

I can eat anything I want & never gain weight. I can converse with the gods & goddesses & not have to *wonder* about anything, because I will know everything... I will never have to ask WHY or WHY NOT ever again.

My hell would be to be just the "body" part of me... no arms, no legs, & trapped in a small room with no windows, never seeing nature or outside, no animals to pet or love, never seeing rain or sunshine or a full moon... trapped, with a bunch of smokers & drug addicts & alcoholics - forced to smell their stench & inhale their crap, and be forced to drink & get drunk & have hangovers & get shot up with their drugs & go thru withdrawals.... and there will be TRASH everywhere! - Just piles & piles of trash! - stinky, disgusting trash piles! -with no hope of ever ever EVER escaping. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like My Heaven much, much better. 😉

I want to go to your heaven now! :)
Heaven: no body, no thought, no emotion, no individuality - just quiet, serene one-ness with everything, transcending time and space. Pretty much the original Buddhist notion of Nirvana. (And yep, I do faithfully hope that's where "my soul" will end up one day.)

Hell: Immortality in a physical body, with my individual (neurotic) personality/thought/emotions intact, in a massively overpopulated area where I can't ever physically withdraw from all those people.

My view of the afterlife is that it's a bit different for different people. For those who had strong beliefs and lived up to them I think they'll receive what they think they will. Not for eternity. But for a while. I think some people will be reincarnated. But like I said, I think different people will have different experiences.

Heaven to me isn't all floaty clouds or anything like that. I suppose it's the Buffy version where you know that everyone you loved and cared for are happy and healthy and you are totally at peace with yourself and the life you lived.

Hell, for me is the complete and utter lack of hope. I tend to be glass-half-full-lady and if I couldn't see a brighter day through the bleakness of the present, that would be hell to me becuase what would be the point?

Have any of ya'll seen What Dreams May Come? Ever since seeing that film years ago thats always how I've envisioned heaven. Its like this set of little tiny universes... you get there and you get to create any heaven you want, you think it, its there... the same goes for everyone else... everyone has their own personal ever-after and once you choose to you can visit other's heavens or even combine them if you wish.

Hell... well I don't know... I guess also the "hell" from this film... also your own personal hell you create for yourself... every fear, insecurity, helpless, hopeless feeling you ever had, all trapped in a house with you with absolutely no way out.

Is that the Robin Williams one with the wonderful oil-painted heavenly landscape? (I ask because if it is, the German title is quite different...)

EDIT:

Airam agrees: yep, thats the one 🙂 Whats the German title?
