Hi there,

Found this place because the people in my life don't talk about Buffy enough to keep me satisfied. 🙂

I only started the show for the first time this summer, and I'm on season 7 right now. I'll admit that I've kind of stalled right now... I think I'm on episode 11. It's not that I don't like the show anymore, but I keep wanting to rewatch old episodes rather than finish, even though I certainly will finish some day soon. Technically, being a television fan, I know everything that's going to happen already, so that's another reason. But anyway, I'm making it sound like I don't even like the show, when I absolutely love it. I took on the project of watching the whole series this summer to keep me entertained for outside of school, but I never thought that the show would become a personal favorite of mine. The episode that had me hooked for life was the two-parter "Surprise/Innocence" because I had no idea that Angelus was the going to be the villain of Season 2, and that subversion of expectations made me fall very hard for the show. My favorite episode is "Once More With Feeling," and I know that's so boring to say, but almost every song speaks to me in such a profound way, it's hard to describe yet easy to understand. (I've even written a long, rambling piece on why it's my favorite episode of the show, so maybe I'll share that on this board. If anybody's interested... Not that I would be able to say anything that none of you haven't already said. Haha.)

Alongside Buffy, I also started Angel, but I'm only on the third season. I can't wait to keep going in that show.

Man, I love these shows.

hope you enjoy it here. And btw, its not boring to say that the music from OMWF speaks to you, it's great when I hear people have emotional connections to the Buffyverse. And I definately agree with Surprise / Innocence being the turning point in the show....

You're not alone in Season 2 episodes hooking you, that's what happened to me. Once I saw "Passion" I was a fan for life 😛

Awesome intro! That's cool you're digging the show so much, and believe me, I know the feeling of not enough Buffy-talk. For sure post about your thoughts on the episodes as you see them, the Angel ones too (Angel is such an awesome show as well) and please, don't hesitate to share your OMWF essay. It's a pretty popular episode.
 
Hey thanks everybody. Boy, this place is huge. Which is both exiting and intimidating. I shall look around a bit before doing any real posting, so as to get used to the swing of things. But I appreciate all the welcomes!
 
Welcome to the boards! I talk to other people about the show a lot, but I also like to talk to people about it here on the boards -- I like a lot of conversation, and this helps me keep a lot of them going at the same time.

I was also really hooked at Surprise and Innocence -- the cliffhanger at the end of Surprise was expertly executed, and the twist that followed in Innocence made sure I wasn't letting go of the series.

I really like OMWF, but it's not quite my favorite -- still, it's an episode that I've watched a lot, and the soundtrack is burned into my brain.

As for Angel, watch it. Finish the show. I just finished watching it last week, and even though it had some parts that slogged, I ended up liking it a lot better than I thought I was going to as I watched through it -- I think it manages to end pretty strongly.

And yeah, hope to see you around in the real threads.
