Welcome to the Boards!!! I had only just started the show when I came here and the board is very spoiler-y so be very, very careful what you read about Season Seven and Angel. My advice is to watch Angel by the way, it's an amazing show but IMO not quite up to Buffy's standards.

😀. It's nice to see that you're sheilding your son from things but letting him watch either way. My mother was very shocked at me when I decided to watch, because she's a majorly strict Christen who believes some strange things. I won't let her watch the show because I'm scared she'll ban me from watching it 😛. Btw, I'm a 15 year old girl hahahaa. Just thought I'd point that out.

Welcome to the boards Goby! It's great to see you're so enthusiastic about BtVS. 🙂 Like others have said though, you better watch out for spoilers on here, because it's EVERYWHERE.

Also, once you're done with BtVS, you really have to give 'Angel' a shot. It's as good if not better at times. 😉
 
I've checked out a few threads in Season 6. In a week or two, after I finish Season 7 I will explore the rest.

I made the mistake of watching a commentary. Within 1 minute the commentator said "The Principal become the ______ in the Season Finale." So I haven't listened to a single commentary.

I'm happy to hear that "Angel" is a great series too.

BTW, my last name is Alpert. It's pretty cool to see my name on a crypt in the cemetery, and to hear "Paging Dr. Alpert" in "The Body" episode.

Sorry about the 15 year old girl comment. I'll make it up to you by not telling your mom how "evil" BTVS is. 😉

I can't wait to talk to others about this great show, yet I'm sad that the ride is almost over. I'm going to stay away from most of the other topics until I'm done. I'd hate to be in the Season 3 forum and read that "Spike was great in this episode... it's terrible that in Season 7 he has an affair with Willow, Xander kills him, Buffy dies of a broken heart, Anya and Riley get married, and Dawn becomes the next slayer"... although I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. 🙂
 
Wow. I remember my first watch of season 7. I had to wait a week between episodes though. It was still on the air back then.

I practice family law, which is divorce, child support, child custody, and almost anything else that deals with two people who loved each other, and now hate each other. 🙁

This kinda cracks me up (oh and welcome, btw) because for the longest time while it was actually airing my mother REFUSED to watch this show no matter how hard I tried to get to watch with me. Then one day I call her and I can hear Giles voice in the background and I'm like, "Mom, what are you watching," of course she tries to change the subject and I ask again, "Mom, what are you watching," she tells me she just has the television on for background noise and she's not really watching it, and I asked her again, "Mom, what are you watching..." and this time she says, "Oh it's nothing really," and I'm like, "Mom, that's not nothing, that's GILE'S VOICE in the background...I'd know it anywhere."

There's a pause and then I'm like, "You're watching, BtVS. You said you would NEVER watch BtVS. And now you're going to borrow my dvd's and watch them all and I'll NEVER get them back EVER." And she said, "Well, Giles is kind of hot." rotfl. And I'm like..."He..." and she wouldn't let me finish because of, "spoilers." Her word, not mine.

God, that woman. But, yes...this cracked me up.
 
Welcome to BB! Never too late in life to discover love for the Buffster LOL. I myself am a 41 year old professional mother of 3. My kids are perfectly aware of my Buffy obsession & often watch it with me (yes, I pick & choose what they watch). My 6 yr old is the biggest fan of all 3, and loves Spike & Oz ("there are not enough werewolves on Buffy, mom"- I agree, son). You'll see his comments peppered throughout my posts in the episode discussions. I posted his OMWF commentary on the season 6 forum.

Anyway, welcome again, I'm looking forward to your insights!

Oh, and yes, you must watch Angel, although if you weren't already at season 7 of BTVS I'd advise you to watch the simultaeous seasons at the same time to better enjoy & understand the crossovers. When you're done with Angel you've got to watch Joss' masterpiece Firefly. There, that's my opinion, do what you will with it. 😀

OMG, I know exactly what you mean. I wish I could watch all the episodes again without knowing what happens lol.
