i'm new, (if you couldn't tell from the title) and i haven't been a Buffy fan long, since this summer, but it quickly became one of my favorite shows. i watching started because a lot of stuff was going on in my life and i needed something to take my mind off it and Buffy was it.
But, i wanna ask how did you start watching Buffy?

Welcome to the board! New fans are always welcome! Who are your favourite characters? / storylines?

Buffy has always been an escape for me too, it's my happy place 🙂

It's a tie between Willow and Oz. But my favorite storyline is Xander and Willow's, i like the fact that they remain friends throughout everything they have been through. It kinda reminds me of me and my best friend.

Hey, Welcome to the Boards. I started watching because I didn't have sky, and on a Thursday evening at 6:45 there was very little else on 🙂

Welcome to the boards! I started watching Buffy because my mom bought me the first season of Angel for Christmas a few years ago--she thought I'd like him better and when I realized how awesome the characters were, I watched Buffy after 🙂 So I watched it backwards I guess.

Hi there and welcome. 🙂

I heard about Buffy because I was in a shop and picked up the RPG by Eden studio's, read it and wanted to watch the show.
On the strength of the game I pretty much bought seasons 1 to 5 on vhs (okay, now I feel old...)

The buffy RPG books by eden studios are Amazing! I have all of them.

Welcome to the boards!

I started watching Buffy similarly to you. I got really sick back in 2005, and had to take some time off work. My co-worker brought over some of her Buffy DVDs for me to watch. I was instantly hooked. I watched the entire series in record time. Buffy got me through a really hard time.

And, well, the rest is history. I'm hopelessly obsessed.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! Its kinda cool seeing how everyone got started watching and how a tv show can bring people together. (cue cheezy moment)

I love it here on the Boards :)
Welcome!

I started watching Buffy in season 3 because I had a crush Seth Green (I saw him in The Spy Who Shagged Me and had a real thing for goth boys at the time).

I've been a fan/devotee for about 13 years now. Love both BtVS & Angel.

Currently I'm re-watching all seasons (for the 6th time) alternating episodes of Buffy & Angel in an order some dude worked out.

My friends think I'm mad. Until I convince them to give it a go, then they understand why I love it. Never introduced someone to BtVS who hasn't loved it, even the biggest cynics!

Hello there, welcome!

I started watching Buffy as a kid when it aired in France. My mom found the VHS for a very cheaped price once and bought them for me so I watched the whole series. It stuck with me but I suppose I became a fan 3 or 4 years back, when I realized that no TV shows had that impact on me. I always come back to BTVS.

I started watching when the show was on first-run. A friend made me watch an episode with her and after catching random episodes here and there, I was hooked by the time Season 2 began airing. It's been my favorite show ever since. 😀

WELCOME to the forum!

Welcome to the boards!

I had been hearing about Buffy for years and finally decided to watch it last summer when I need a new TV show to follow. I really wish I watched earlier or got to see it on its run on TV. But better late than never, right?
