Clean of the humanity that infested Spike, Angelus nevertheless had a fixation on Buffy. She "made [him] feel like a human being" and Angelus took great care to play with her heart in return.

Still, he showed a great...er, fondness for Buffy even years after all this.

Here's basically my rundown of his reaction in Salvage.

A Slayer is in town!

Seriously thought I found it really funny how he perked up hearing the Slayer was around then let out this depressed little sigh when he discovered it was Faith and not Buffy.

Little bit of trivia (I think) is that Angelus still wears Angel's Claddagh ring.

That is the ring right? On his middle finger?
It's on his right hand with the heart twisted away from him. That means he's not romantically involved.

So, with all that superfluous stuff out of the way...questions! Very curious to hear what others think about this ship.

1. What do you think Angelus felt for Buffy?

2. Bangelus vs. Dangelus! Do you think he felt more strongly towards Buffy or Darla?

3. Do you think Angelus would have changed Buffy be it by actually turning her into a vampire or somehow driving her out of her mind until she turned evil with him?

He still wore the ring.

My people - before I was changed - they exchanged this as a sign of devotion. It's a Claddagh ring. The hands represent friendship; the crown represents loyalty... and the heart... Well, you know... Wear it with the heart pointing towards you. It means you belong to somebody. Like this.

He just wore it backwards. I'm not sure if that is the ring, but I know that in Innocence the turns it backwards.

1. What do you think Angelus felt for Buffy?

First, I do think he was obsessed, Drusilla style obsessed. But in a way, I do think he cared about her. Angel was a part of Angelus. Angelus had all of Angel's memories, and when you have no soul, those memories make it hard for you.

2. Bangelus vs. Dangelus! Do you think he felt more strongly towards Buffy or Darla?

Buffy. Darla was a obsession of his. He never knew her, before he turned her.. he just saw that something in her.. on the other hand, Angel cared truly about Buffy, Angelus knew that, and in a way I think he felt that.

3. Do you think Angelus would have changed Buffy?

Sure.

Angelus was obsessed with Buffy, I think he knew that he loved Buffy when he had a soul and knowing that is what kept him from ever really trying to kill her. I think the memories he had of Buffy/Angel and their feelings for one another drove him crazy, so he did what he does best....becoming overly obsessive and tormenting the object of that obsession.

2. Bangelus vs. Dangelus! Do you think he felt more strongly towards Buffy or Darla?

Buffy. Angel fell in love with Buffy and she made him want to be a better man. Darla played a huge role in creating Angelus (I think she brought out the worst of him) and Angel hates that part of himself. Darla was his companion, someone who was equally as evil and enjoyed causing mayhem with him....but I don't think think their connecting was anything deep until Darla came back to life as a human.

3. Do you think Angelus would have changed Buffy be it by actually turning her into a vampire or somehow driving her out of her mind until she turned evil with him?

Yes, with his obsessive personality and love of torturing I'm sure Angelus would have kept going until her drove her mad. I don't know if he would have changed her though.

Darla was a obsession of his. He never knew her, before he turned her.. he just saw that something in her.. on the other hand, Angel cared truly about Buffy, Angelus knew that, and in a way I think he felt that.

It was actually Darla who sired Liam.

I have more to say on this subject (I love the Angelus/Buffy interaction), but I must go to bed!

1. What do you think Angelus felt for Buffy?
Obsession. Like he said: Buffy made him want to be a better man. So of course, the next thing he would do, is to take revenge. And he did it the Angelus way. I think he hated her, because he wasn't able to love, but Angels memories told him otherwise. He was sort of screwed. Maybe, by hurting Buffy, he was trying to prove something to himself, like, "no I don't feel any remorse by doing this or doing that... Angel would. So I'm totally still the same Angelus I used to be hundred years ago." I also believe that deep inside he knew that Angel would eventually win the upper hand again. So he would make sure that he would have to start all over again, with everything that ever meant anything to him lost.

2. Bangelus vs. Dangelus! Do you think he felt more strongly towards Buffy or Darla?
Dangelus. Angelus might have hated Buffy most, but Darla was the girl he's been with the longest time. Darla was his sire, so they must have a special bond. She also formed him. And considering, that Angelus loves nothing but himself, he must be at least greatful for Darlas engagement in his development.

3. Do you think Angelus would have changed Buffy be it by actually turning her into a vampire or somehow driving her out of her mind until she turned evil with him?
I think he was trying to do the same thing with Buffy as with Dru. Yes, I think he would have sired her, after she was "ready".

I'm on the fence here because I think what he felt towards them was completely different and incomparable. Darla was a mother, a creator, a lover and eventually an equal. Buffy was obsession/love/enemy/hate all twisted into one glorious mess but I don't think that human or vamped she could ever have the affect or control over Angelus that Darla always had. Buffy was more of a plaything than an equal and would probably have remained so.

3. Do you think Angelus would have changed Buffy be it by actually turning her into a vampire or somehow driving her out of her mind until she turned evil with him?
I think he would have combined the two, either driven her crazy like Dru and turning her (he would probably really have enjoyed that). Or if there weren't time he would simply had turned her.
