Just an advisory to steer you through unknown territory that had me confused for a while: Before long, you will run into the terms "ship" and "shippers". These refer respectively to relationships and fans who support various relationships. They are referred to by an elided name such as Bangel for Buffy and Angel, Spuffy for Spike and Buffy, Woz for Willow and Oz, Tillow for Tara and Willow, Xanya for Xander and Anya - you get the idea. I still don't know if Buffy + Riley is Briley or Ruffy.
You can often find Bangels who despise Spuffy and vice versa and the battles between them can get pretty funny. The usual thought processes are, "Bangel is so melocramatic it belongs on Walton's Mountain, not Sunnydale" and "Spuffy is a misogynistic horror show of mutual abuse and violence". You can get drawn into these battles or you can sit back and be amused at fans becoming as dramatic as the show itself.
Beyond that, this is a generally friendly, civilized forum and you should have no fear of anyone's opinion - after all, these are people you will probably never meet and your opinions have just as much validity as anyone else's.
