I'm always hesitant to register on new message boards like this because I don't know anyone and usually don't feel comfortable... but this is different. I've recently come to the realization that Buffy is quite possibly my favorite show ever. People in real life would look at me like I'm insane if I said I like it more than Breaking Bad, GoT, Sopranos, etc. But not here! And that's what drew me to these boards...

So, while I may not know any of you and might be 10 years too late for joining this message board, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join quite possibly the largest online community for my favorite show.

Yeah it can be hard to show up on a message board and start posting.
Think many find it a bit uncomfortable.

But now when you have gotten that pesky first post out of the way it's just to dive right in. 🙂

Welcome!

Welcome to the boards. It's friendly around here so just get stuck in!

There's something about the shows name that produces funny looks from people when you tell them it's your favourite. I look at them with pity if they haven't seen it and contempt if they have but don't like it 😀

Joined the crowd - this is a friendly place! Welcome - and I know what you mean. I watch and enjoy other shows but something about Buffy really draws me in, and affects me than any of them.

Glad to hear that Buffy is one of your favorite shows. Welcome, and enjoy talking about the show on here.

One of my favourite shows too, as is the Sopranos like you mentioned! Buffy and Angel are so nostalgic for me though, grew up with these characters and that's what is so special about it. Nothing else can touch that.

See, I'm only 23, so I was very young when both shows originally aired. I caught episodes here and there, I most vividly remember "Go Fish" and "Passion." I used to watch it every Sunday when we went to my Grandmother's house. So, in that regard, it is also nostalgic for me.

But it wasn't until this year that I decided to watch the series in its entirety. It was honestly love at first sight. Buffy just feels like a comic book, every character is perfectly cast, and while there are some monster-of-the-week duds, the writing is simply amazing, especially character interaction and development.

It's weird because, I've seen Buffy be compared to shows like Doctor Who or Charmed, which I don't particularly care for.
