HELP! Questions on Enemies (3:17)

Okay, so I've started watching the BVS series (from season 1) and am currently up to 3:17. My friend Jar and I are going through each episode, and haven't watched anything current (I don't know how the series ends!). We watched enemies tonight, and I have MANY questions:
1. Who was the demon Faith killed in order to get the books? Good/bad? Why was he so meek and weak?
2. How did Giles know that the magician (?) summoned to steal Angel's soul was asked to do just that? Did the magician come to town and call up Giles? Is Angel's history and affiliation with Giles common knowledge in the magician community? Did Giles send the magician to the mayor, and if so, how did Giles know that's what the mayor intended (to steal Angel's soul)?
3. When did Buffy learn of the plan to trick Faith, and when did she tell Angel, and why didn't she tell her friends?
4. When did Faith get back in the game? Why wasn't she sent to England to deal with the council after killing the deputy mayor?
5. Was Faith REALLY about to kill Xander?
6. How come Angel entered Faith's home? Has he been there before (been invited) and I missed it?

Thanks for the help! I'm going crazy here!

OK! Some things I know, and some I don't. I'll try my best on those I know, or can figure out!

1. Who was the demon Faith killed in order to get the books? Good/bad? Why was he so meek and weak?

Who was he? Just some random demon with valuable information, and he knew that the slayer would have been very interested in the Books of Assention (Had Buffy been aware of the Mayor's plans, that is).
Good/Bad? The more into the series you get (and especially "Angel: The Series") you'll find that although demons are evil, they're not necessarily "EVIL." In fact some of them are decent, just trying to make it in the world, like your Bookie there.
Why was he so meek? That was just his character. Wouldn't you be really nervous around Demon slayers if you were a demon?

Pfft. I don't know. When in doubt: They live on a Hellmouth. I'm sorry I can't be of more help on that one.

3. When did Buffy learn of the plan to trick Faith, and when did she tell Angel, and why didn't she tell her friends?

This is one I've actually wondered (the "when did she tell Angel" or other way around).

4. When did Faith get back in the game? Why wasn't she sent to England to deal with the council after killing the deputy mayor?

When did Faith get back in the game? What do you mean?
Why wasn't she sent to England? Because Wesley didn't succeed in his plan to get her back to England.

5. Was Faith REALLY about to kill Xander?

I'm thinking she was.

6. How come Angel entered Faith's home? Has he been there before (been invited) and I missed it?

It wasn't her home. It was a motel.

Thanks, Argie, for writing back - as far as my question #3, when B goes back to A at the end (and tells him she need to take a break) she acknowledges that he was only doing what she asked of him, so I guess in the scene that apparently was left out, B asks A to pretend to be evil again. I guess showing the season would've ruined the whole surprise element, but it confused me.

As far as #4, I thought it strange that W couldn't get F back to England, but all of a sudden she is absolved of this murder and allowed to patrol and act out her role as slayer w/ B. It troubled me how she was fleeing and then all of a sudden training w/ W.

I wondered about the motel situation, since technically it is a public place, but thought since F made her home there it would fall under the house clause.

I thought this episode forced us to take too much for granted.

1. The demon's name is Skyler. It is never mentioned on-screen, but in the script.
2. No idea.
3. No idea
4. The Council must've decided not to bring her to England after all that sh*t in "Consequences".
5. I think she could've really hurt him.
6. Faith lives in a motel, which doesn't require an invite.
