HELP: Saudi Arabia

OK i work in a pub and all the bars in bolton have to do a theme night based on a country, and we've got saudi arabia.

Only thing is we are sort on ideas for costumes and other stuff like that e.g. cocktails etc.

Anyone any ideas?

Given that Saudi is a Muslim country the drinks should surely be non-alcoholic...I'm thinking that probably isn't very helpful, given that it's a pub 🙂

Saudi Arabia is boring. You should do an Arabian Nights theme, then the waitresses can dress in harem girl outfits, and do belly dances and stuff. 🙂

Well, thats' true that this theme isn't really good for a pub...I'll suggest maybe to do cocktails with "warm colours" which will remind of the warm climate or green ones like the saudi arabian flag...

Lots of lights, like the oil refineries and the trucks the Pakistani's drive. The clothes (men's) are colorful, usually a tan or white robe-like thing with scarves over their heads.....the men wear red and white, or plain white ones. The women, of course, wear black....head to toe. Saudi's do drink, not all of them I'm sure, but some do......I had several drinks with them, and this during Ramadan.....Chivas if I recall correctly. Or maybe it was Crown Royal...I can't remember. The Bedouin live in tents, they're also white. The Saudi flag is red, white, black and green, I think.

Hmmmm, that's all I can think of for now. Oh...one more thing, the men wear sandals, mostly.......

Warm colors. That's good. I keep imagining a veiled waitress in one of those black abayas toting a platter of beers. Just a little bit incongruous.

Maybe serve some Arabian coffees. Call it "black gold". Comes in a mini oil drum. Is that fun and playful or just offensive? lol.

Ive just lived right near saudi Arabia...and its not as different as most people might think. But id go with kinda sandy/white colours, wooden kinda looking decorations (hmm i know thats weird, but they have a lot of cool wooded stuff there), camels! Alcohol is forbidden there, so cant help you out with that, but they do have awesome coffee...and camel milk is good! Also tents and stuff, coz when they sleep out in the desert thats how they do it.

Huge pillows on the floor on persian rugs in the center a 3 foot tall HOOKAH PIPE!
They use a variety of fruited toabacco's and drink super sweet tea and eat lots of candy.
