Someone and I were talking about some of the unfinished storylines and what could potentially be done this year. One storyline sticks out at me as something that obviously has to be done, but this other person thinks its too mundane now to be included... Anyways, just wanted to see what people think...

I personally think the Drusilla story needs to be closed and it needs to be handled with as much care and thought as any story line ever done in the series.

Of the 4 main vampires introduced in these shows, Drusilla is the last vampire who hasnt been given the chance to redeem themself. Angel, Spike and Darla have all done their thing and it seems like Drusilla needs the same chance, even if it's for Angel's sake.

My thought is this: Angel considers Drusilla to be the absolute worst thing he's ever done. If Angel is actually hoping for redemption and working towards a chance at a normal, human life again, doesnt it make sense he needs to make amends for what he did to Drusilla? And I dont mean just a quick dusting...

This other person thinks that Drusilla doesn't deserve anymore attention then any other big, nasty vampire and the only reason she's still around is to help the storyline by having someone with a past connection to Angelus around. His ultimate solution to Drusilla is an episode or two followed by her final death and a sigh of relief on Angel's part.

I think thats far too simplistic. Apparently, Drusilla was as good a person as you'd find in the world until Angelus showed up. For Angel to truly make things right, he has to actually save Drusilla. With Spike in this next season, I think it becomes even more important to wrap up things with Drusilla.

Anyways, whacha think?

Drusilla = important to Angel's salvation?

or

Drusilla = another nasty Vampire to give Angel headaches?

thanks

I think that alot of what you said makes sense. The fact that Angel has repeatedly said that the worse thing he did as Angelus was Drusilla means that in some way he will need to come to terms with that, both for her sake and his, especially if he wants his redemption and his shanshu. So yeah, I agree with you.

I am so glad this has finally been brought up. Seriously, she was completely traumatized by Angelus, saw her family killed, driven insane, and then turned so that her suffering would be eternal. And definitely Spike will need more closure, they were lovers for a century! Of course, she was a "big ho", but hello crazy here. Plus, she'll have to say "I told you so" about Buffy, I think she knew that Buffy would never love him back and that he was just setting himself up for disappointment.
Sorry if that was a rant, but I feel very strongly about the Drusilla issue. Please just don't let her and Spike have a miracle baby!

I agree with you, but if they do give Drusilla more plot development, I'd rather see her stay evil. She doesn't need to redeem her past sins, she's evil, and that's why I enjoy her character. It seems like everyone goes good eventually, which is disappointing to me personally. Drusilla has been the most consistent character in my eyes, she is who she is, and I'm glad they haven't changed her character....yet. You forgot a vampire though: Harmony......

it is to perfect and unreall for all relationships to have complete closure that is why buffy had issues that were left unfinished
the relashionship between angel and drue can never be laid to rest angel drove drue cazy befor he killed her so even if she had a chance to make amends and get her soul back she would still be crazy because with a soul she will become the same person that she was befor she became a vampire angel can never undo the things he did to her when she was still human so i think let it rest to bring it out again would be tacky

Thank-you, Dusted! Angel must make direct amends somehow for Drusilla. It is imperative that he make up for his worst mistake: Drusilla. If she gets no more screen time ever, that would be the greatest mistake.

Harmony: "It sucks being a vampire." Redemption is right there. All she has to do is say "OK."

there is no way for angel to make amends
he drove her nuts when she was a human she is mentally unable to forgive angel
giving her a soul again would be a cruel thing (she would feel all the pain of the lives she has taken as a vampire but shes already wacky so the guilt would most likely commatoss her)
angel has made enough amends to allow this to go
bringing it up again is a bad thing because no matter how you look at it he will never be able to make it right
she would never be of sound mind to forgive, understand or live any kind of nornal life
drue has been barried and i say may she rest in piece

You brought up a lot of good points, and I feel them same way as you. Before she was turned, Dru was a good person, and she deserves some kind of redemption/closure. And it would be a huge step toward Angel's salvation if he could redeem himself for what he did to her.

angel took so much intreste in drue because she was the purist most innocent soul that he had ever known
she was the kind of person that was choosen by the gods to work thier wonders on earth for them
when she became a vampire her soul was released onto heaven and her body was taken by the demond
her body is now covered in the blood of its sins returning her soul now would take away her purity
she never sinned in her life there-for her soul went straight to heaven she had no penence to pay
angel/spike/darla wernt perfect they had committed sin
their souls were released befor they repented for those sins
thus making it impossable to pass on to heaven
so they had to repent for their sins befor their bodys are dust(ashes to ashes dust to dust let this spirit rest) to bring drues soul back would remove her from glory and deliever her onto hell

I think it is impossible to make amends with Dru she is too crazy, but Angel does need to have an episode where he tries. That would be fun watching.

im surprised someone would want to see an episoide about that it would break my heart to watch angel fail because what he did to her is his greatest regrete it haunts him more then anything from his past and i really want to see some stronge impowering good events this season i cant stand to watch his heart be broken anymore then that of wich it already has

true yes but i still want a love/laughter/great season in case this is the last season wich i realy think that it is

I know what you mean.

But weren't Buffy's ratings slipping at the end of their 4th season, then came back anyway and got strong again? A 6th could still happen. Unless Boreanaz didn't want to play the same character for a ninth year.

buffy ratings at the end of season four were the second highest season ratings not counting season 7 im not sure where season 7 fits in buffy season 6 was the lowest i think when they killed off buffy the majority off the veiwers thought it was stupid and lost intreste

Oh. So I was wrong.

I think I assumed that because everyone for some reason hated it they would have stopped watching it.

well speaking for myself only seasons 1 through 5 were awsome but i hated season 6 with a passion i was flabbergasted with the whole buffy/spike thing i think it was the dumbest thing in the series spike and angel were enimies spike tried to rap buffy i found that it was unbarable but yet i never missed an ep in hopes they would make things right again sometimes people watch things even when they are not amuzed for the chance they may see what they want and i felt the same for angel 4

Speaking for those of us who enjoyed S6, I found the way the writers forced the main characters to deal with their inner demons while fighting real ones to be very satisfying. The metaphors were clever, and the stories well done! That ground has been covered in other threads, so back to this topic, yes, I think Angel needs a chance to face up to what he did when he sired Dru. He took an innocent (but crazy) girl/woman and made her evil and crazier. Since this whole series is ultimately about the redemption of Angel, it only makes sense that he deals with what he himself calls one of his most evil acts as Angelus. In real life sometimes there is no closure, but since this is hardly real life, and Angel needs to suffer to be saved, bring on the angst!
