Help settle an argument...

dru wasnt crazy when angel first saw her
she was a religious and honorable women
she had the ability to see things and had feelings about the future(preminisions)
angel drove her crazy he tourchered her family horably for a long time and made her watch
then when she finally cracked and went crazy he turned her into a vampire
how can he ever possibly make things right with her

How can a dusted vampire come back to life? It can't. (then we watch the season 1 finale). Oh, wait. I guess it can.

waggels:

I don't think Angel can ever "make things right", but that's not the point of the exercise. You take responsibility for your actions, show remorse, and never do it again. If the person forgives you, so be it, if they don't, you have at least acknowledged that you have done wrong and have taken the responsibility for the wrong. The guilt is something you gotta live with, and for Angel that is the whole point. I guess one of the questions is whether Dru is capable of either redemption or forgiveness, or if she even wants them. That's what would make this story arc compelling!

Yes Dru was a "religious and honourable woman", but I wouldn't put too much stake in these characteristics as indicators of her sanity. I'd wonder about someone's grip on reality if they had "visions", and people in the 1800's weren't notorious for their tolerance for mentally aberrant behaviour. I think she was well on her way to the loony bin before Angel got to her. He just took advantage of the situation.

angel has already taken responsability for what he did and he has exspressed his rmorse for it
drue is not mentally capable to want change or redemption
as a human she had no mental problems at all
she was born with the gift of being able to see things befor they happened
that is not a mental illness of any kind
people in the 1800 were threatened by powers like this and yes they may have locked her up in time but she wouldnt have been crazy and she wouldnt have watch her family tourchered to death
and she herself wouldnt have been made into demond that had her gift and could use it for evil (her power was a gift from god)

I've got to say I liked Drusilla, she was kinda funny in Angel season 2. But I dont think Angel would ever be able to make it right. He can't give her a soul, it would probably make her even more crazy - not good for her. And I think if he tried to help her regain her sanity, thats gonna take years and might get on some viewers nerves. The only other option I can see is him staking her, which I dont think would help either of them in anyway. I do believe that Drusilla just disappearing was a little irritating, 'cause they finished up Darla's storyline, but not hers. I guess we'll have to see what the writers come up with and if they think Dru needs to come back.
By the way, completely off topic, but Anita Blake, did you get the quotes in your signature from a fanfic?

i love the idea of bringing back drusilla. she's a fascinating character and her craziness makes her really interesting and entertaining, and it would be a great way for angel to redem himself!

redemption aside i want dru to come back to create tension and drama with spike and angel
spike has hated and felt jelousy with angel for his entire vamp life i think dru could create a funny/intense relationship between angel/spike/drue and buffy if they bring her in on a few eps

Ooooh, good idea! A Dru/Spike/Buffy/Angel moment!!! I'm sitting here chuckling at the one-liners that would fly, especially in asides from Wes as he explained it to Gunn and Fred...

that would be so good i can see it in my mind gunn dumb founded with his jaw on the floor and wess babbling at hyper speed trying to explain it
meanwhile having angel and spike yelling at each other and dru sitting back smiling and enjoying it all

Yeah, I can imagine Gunn's face too...and Fred frowning trying to intellectualize something that is entirely whacked. "But didn't he??...but then they???"
Man that'd be sweet!

Yeah, that's always the question. Actors don't want to get too identified with a certain character or type of character. I think Dru is just too juicy a role to let go, especially with the scenario we're talking about. We'll see.

well Juliet always seem to love playing Drusilla and she always comes back when she has time in her scheduale so i think if she doesnt have anything big to do she will appear, I mean come on they got her to play the first for like half of S7

yep i agree
she enjoyed the role of dru and her charactor isnt an over-played role in buffy or angel also the fact that she knows her fans would realy like to see her in future ep.s i think its safe to say we will see her in season 5 the only question that i have is how much of her we will see

i hope alot

i see dru as the same sort of warrior for evil as buffy is for good dru is the only vamp buffy hasnt either killed or was in a situation where she could have killed dru

i think they will use drue as a major player in the futre
maybe not in season 5 but when its all wrapped up when angel is done

This is an interesting topic. I never even thought of Drue coming back now that both of her boys are in one place again. Could be really interesting. I agree. I think we'll be seeing that little vampire vixen again. But your right. The real question is how big a part is she going to play in the future...

Dru and Buffy still have some things to work out, specifically Kendra, and now Spike. I think the reason Buffy hasn't staked her yet, even with all the reasons she has to do it, is that she seems like she's a bit sorry for Dru, with all the insanity etc.
