So I want to buy the FRIENDS DVDs and I've found two different boxsets (season 1-10) on amazon, but it seems like on both of them, episodes have been cut and they're shorter than when they aired so I wonder, is there a box that has uncut eps? The single seasons, are they cut?

Well, actually, I also think they are cut. I have s3 on DVD for example, and I also have s3 episodes from Russia. And there are scenes that are in the Russian version but not on DVD.

Sounds very strange indeed but I´m guessing you´re not lying so... Don´t hav a clue why it is like that.

edit: Valid reasons but one would thing Russia bought the show as it´s aired in the US unless they sell different copies to different countries. Friends doesn´t seem like a show that´s too offensive but I guess you never know.

Well my guess would be that they were just not too funny or the episodes were too long, or some were maybe too offensive. And well in Russia they probably just not care
Different countries have different laws around what you can show on TV and at what times.
What maybe inoffensive to you in Germany might be very offensive to him in Russia.

TV shows are generally recut to buggery.

Does anyone even remember how severely ass-raped Angel was on UK Channel Five?

Also, if you are going by length of show, I own a couple of seasons and a few of them remove the opening credits after the first episode ona disk.

Personally though, don't know why anyone would wanna buy friends - like The Simpsons and Frasier - its one of the few shows guaranteed to be on TV somewhere at any time of the day!

yea, there are extended editions. But usually you have to buy the boxsets separate. Some of the episodes are a full 30mins (without commercials). Your not missing too much since it didnt make the cut in the 20min aired version but their are some really funny lines. In some episodes their are whole separate story lines that were cut from the episode.

Honestly, you want help with Friends?

Throw your dvd's in the bin! That's the first thing I would do.
