"Help"

I have just finished re-watching Helpless, and although I've seen the episode before I've actually only just realised how moving and deep the episode is. What's everyone elses thoughts on the episode? I think it's heart-breaking how Cassie died in the end. 🙁

Either way I have just realised this episode is a prime example of one of the reasons I love this show so much.

I love that episode. I think it's one of the best stand alone eps of the series.

First, I thought you meant "Helpless" from S3 - which I absolutely loved!!

But to be honest, "Help" is not my favorite.. Cassie annoys me so much. She keeps saying that no one can help her (I know she is right), but in the end I feel sorry for Buffy.

I know you mean 'Help' from Season Seven because you said Cassie.

In that case, I love that episode. I loved it when I first saw it but I don't know many people that do. I've even heard it lumped in with 'Him' as the worst episode of the season which makes me laugh, especially since I love both of those episodes.

I was surprised that I actually liked Cassie as a character. By the end I was rooting for her and I was shocked because she was just a one shot (two shot) character. But she's great and the Scoobies have good moments in this episode too. Especially Willow's
"I'm over you sweetie". That just made me smile, I'm glad she's past that and willing to say it.

So yeah, great ep.

I agree, I love this ep, but I think the main point of it was to prove to Buffy that she can't save everyone, no matter how hard she tries.

This was the start of the set up for S7, I think, when Buffy learns that, in a war, there are going to be people she can't save, and that's why I think she looses a little of her focus towards to Potentials. Because Cassie proved to her that she can't save everyone.

I love the end scene, where they're all sitting on the couch talking about Cassie and Dawn's crying because she's lost a friend, even though she only spoke to Cassie because Buffy made her. She's truly saddened by her loss.

Part of me wishes that 'Cassie' had appeared to Buffy or Dawn in Conversations with Dead People. I think it would have had a bigger impact than the Willow scene.

I always skip this episode. It's more of a filler episode and Cassie was annoying. Wasn't the actress a friend of SMG?

One of my favorite episodes ever, and the girl who plays Cassie is amazing. I absolutely loved her in "Conversations With Dead People."

I loved this episode and Cassie, it's a shame it was only a oneshot kind of thing as she was a really interesting character.

I just rewatched this ep and I like it! I mean, for a stand alone, it's pretty good. The whole idea that Buffy simply can't save everyone, and again brings up the theme that really the only thing she can't fight is death by natural causes and disease.

I will say that any of the season 7 episodes that have the highschoolers in them, like Dawn, or her friends, I usually take a disliking to them. And it's because one of the reasons I love the early seasons so much is because I love the "90's" feel of them. The clothes, the music, the culture really. So seeing the highschool out of that context is a bummer to me. Plus, the high school students look so young in season 7 compared to seasons 1-3 (even though the age of the actors they get in season 7 are probably closer to how actual high schoolers look).

Then again. Things change so I should just deal with it. 😛

Maybe not he exact words she says but it's something like that 🙂

I actually like this episode, even though I hate Azura Skye (the actress who plays Cassie). I thought it was a really nice way to show that some things really are out of Buffy's hands, no matter how hard she tries to change things.
