Xena was my Big Fandom before I got into Buffy. It's still one of my favorite shows.

I've only watched a few episodes of Hercules, but I'm thinking of picking up the DVD's.

I JUST started rewatching Xena last week.

I am totally digging it.

She had this speech at the end of an episode.

She threw a rock into a lake and told Gabrielle about the ripples and how it changes a person. And Gabrielle said that if you wait long enough the ripples go away and the lake is smooth again.

And Xena said, yes, but the rock is still there, underneath.

And I LOVED IT!

And then-- The water ripples and churns; that's what I became."

G: "But if we sit here long enough it will go back to being
still again. It will go back to being calm."

X: "But the stone's still under there. It's now part of the
lake. It might look as it did before, but it's forever changed.
Come on-- let's go."

G: "For your first stab at wisdom, you did all right."

X: "I was just saying that for your benefit. You didn't think I
meant it, did you?"

G: "Huh! Not me-- I wasn't fooled."

Yup! I used to watch these when they were airing! My cousin (who was also insanely obsessed with Buffy) was also obsessed with Xena!

Sure, I like Xena and Hercules. Also Legend of the Seeker, which was made by the same production team.

I was on the fence about Legend of the Seeker until they added Cara in season 2... then it really took off. Aaaand then it got cancelled, of course.
