Known simply as "The Beast", and he's 666, demony monk chant music kinda bad.

My money is that Angel (make that Angelus!😉) is going to have his hands full with this one!

Looks kind of Evil indeed, bit like a devil, but is made very cool! But why "the Beast", Glory was also called " the Beast".

I thought he looked a bit derivative.

I was hoping for the more elegant 'fallen angel' look from the Prophecy flicks (but ya can't have everything).

My own wish-list for this Season 4 story arc...
- Cordy's super-powers must remanifest, and make it spectacular!
- Bring back Skip the Demon to fight this guy; better yet a whole ARMY of Skips.
- This BB should scare even Wolfram & Hart (kind of like how the 'goin' respectable' Mafia was scared of the uber-violent Colombian gangs). Have them come to the Scrappy gang's aid with all sorts of help.... at a price! (BWA-HA-ha-ha-ha!!)
- Faith! 😛

Did you play GTA 3 and did you watch "the Godfather" ... no ? ... I thought so ... I did ... I hate them Columbians

Faith is in the show, mid-season and since the Big-Bads are always defeated at the end, she won't see that happening, then again Angel never had any Big Bads, so maybe he'll get defeated mid-season! You're forgetting Gwen BTW.

OMG I've stood next to him, he's really called Vladimire (sp?). He was wearing these really high shoes and was like 7 foot or something, he was so freaky.

My Mafia analogy was based on real-life, but your Godfather parallels are on the money.

And Faith is coming in mid-season?! whoo-hoo!!! I thought I was going to have to wait until season-end.

As for Gwen, it's good to know lightning-lass is on this season's agenda. BTW - She 'kick-started' Angel's dried-up heart in her episode... is it perchance still beating?

I ask 'cuz he mentioned how cold he was this week. Seems a beating heart would have warmed him up, and been one step closer to regained humanity... and I was looking forward to side-effects!

No I don't think it's beating again. It was only beaten, because of the electricity. Faith will be on the last 5 episodes of Buffy this year! (Maybe that's where you've mistaken) .... So Vladimire is his name!

In real life, not the character, the character is called "The Beast" thats what it says on the call sheet anyway.

Why "the Beast" ... we already had one of those in Buffy S5, remember the monks referring to Glory as "the Beast".

Am I psychic or what?...

Well, it does look like I got the "W&H helping out" bit right on my wish-list.

I swear... there was no spoiler knowledge involved. Maybe I have my own version of Cordy-like powers 😎

I think The Beast is definitely after Cordelia. Before he came through the surface, he was probably expecting Cordy (The Higher Being) to be all super strong and powerful. Then when he picked her up by the neck, he was shocked by how helpless and physically weak she was. He had an extremely surprised look on his face while he was staring at her. The Beast was probably thinking, "Hmmm...this is gonna be a lot easier than I thought. Maybe I should come up with another plan." That's when he took off. Maybe Cordelia's the only one that can stop him and she doesn't know it yet. The other obvious opponent would be Angel. He was the closest one to defeating The Beast, up until he was staked through the neck. Ouch!!

Here's an interesting theory, and something that would be really kewl if it happend. Like two people have said before, "The Beast" was also how they referred to Glory in BtVS Season Five. What if this new Big Bad IS Glory in true form? That would allow an amazing crossover or two, of which we have been promised this season.

From,
Davin

Wow, I'm impressed! I never thought of that before! Ok, so we are talking about Buffy now people right?

(looks around panicked)

Right!?!?!?

Could be, but I'm not convinced yet, though I could be cool, but Glory was very femine and the Beast doesn't seem that way!

My take agrees with other posters -- The Beast is part of Connor. Dealing with him ("the father will destroy the son") will fulfill the flawed prophecy.

Hang on, kids.... it's gonna be quite a ride until the end of the season!

While I have the floor, let me deal with a rumor. I've gotten about 150 messages over the last few days insisting I am a 'lurking' David Boreanaz -- while a bit flattering... please, stop the insanity! 🙂
