So if I understand you correctly Razekial you're saying Buffy is not any kind of slayer, she's just a really strong girl. Is that correct?
The characters of Buffy tend to disagree with you. Do you remember this little blip from Buffy in Checkpoint (season 5)
BUFFY: You're Watchers. Without a Slayer, you're pretty much just watchin' Masterpiece Theater. You can't stop Glory. You can't do anything with the information you have except maybe publish it in the "Everyone Thinks We're Insane-O's Home Journal." (Pauses, addresses Travers again) So here's how it's gonna work. You're gonna tell me everything you know. Then you're gonna go away. (resumes pacing) You'll contact me if and when you have any further information about Glory. The magic shop will remain open. Mr. Giles will stay here as my official Watcher, reinstated at full salary...
As a result of this we see Giles, Buffy, and the whole watcher's council recognizing Buffy as the slayer. What do you know that they don't?
I've heard Giles refer to Buffy as "a slayer", "his slayer", and "the slayer".
As recently as "Conversations with Dead People" Buffy refers to herself as "THE slayer".
If something has changed as far as the power she has access to, Buffy doesn't seem to know about it.
Yes, there is a lineage by which slayer power is activated upon the death of a previous slayer. This is clearly stated throughout the Buffy Myth. At no time however does anyone or anything in any Buffy episode I know of state that Buffy's power as the slayer has been lost, or even altered.
The power exists, therefore the opportunity exists to pass it on.
I told you I could click my imagination into gear and think of 3 ways how the power could be passed on. You asked me to share them with you. Very well, off the top of my head then here's 3;
It might be possible for Buffy to offer the power up through some kind of long forgotten, recently rediscovered spell.
Some kind of uber-witch or sorceror may know how to take the power from Buffy.
If the series were to end with Buffy taking a journey to Hell, the episode might end with Buffy finding it necessary to pass the power over to the forces of light and goodness in order to escape Hell. Perhaps only a souled non-powered ordinary human being has the right to petition for release from Hell.
None of this really matters though, does it? You tell me Buffy has no power to pass on. Again... by your interpretation, she's just a really strong girl. I disagree. It doesn't look like either of us are going to change the other's minds. I can live with that, but I'm still going to continue to say the power exists and it can be passed on.
Double Post (next time use the edit button!):
I had to shake my head, when I read your last post Perigon.
I must be reading it wrong.
Are you saying no one is allowed to try to guess what might be possible in the Buffyverse, except Joss Whedon, and you.
