Anxious and ready was I. Geek at heart, maybe- but not as bad as some of you. The writer's strike left a harsh taste in my mouth, similar to asparagus but at least my pee didnt change colours. Needless to say I was ready and awaiting the new season of Heroes. And it was supposed to be a three hour event.

In the back of my mind though, I remember them saying that they no longer wanted to 'build up' the story but wanted to 'hit the ground running' and that made me nervous. But, I am ready for the three hour event.

The minute I saw the first 'hour' was just a lead in/interview/red carpet kinda thing, I knew... somewhere deep in the recesses of my blackened heart I knew it was going to be an unadulterated failure.

Still, I was hopeful.

Once it did start, it took about 30 minutes to go from hopeful to hopeless. It felt like SUCH a different show. It WAS a different show. It was always popcorn and bubblegum, don't get me wrong, but man they really salted that flippin popcorn.

Was anyone else disappointed?

I gave up on heroes halfway through episode 1... of season 1... lol

Sorry, I'm not usually so judgemental.. sometimes I can just smell shit, even if it is just in the making.

Actually I thought season one was pretty good.. it was kinda light and fluffy but that is not all bad. I liked the slow pace where it built on the story and the characters. That seems to be gone.

Well I cn't argue with you, Ive seen very little of it. What I have seen, however, was glimpses of really bad acting.
Isn´t it nice then the title explains what the thread is about...

Haven´t seen the new episdodes yet but I will. I do have too much to watch so if it´s not to my liking I guess I won´t continue. But I haven´t given upp hope. I´ve never been totally in love with the show which many seem to have but I´ve liked it. Better than Prison break which I watched the first 3 seasons of...

Never got into the show. There was so many trailers and hype around about it, that I got bored with it before it had even started.

Seriously?! I thought last night was AWESOME! Best episode of Heroes to date IMO. I watched S1, and it was okay but pretty much my least fave show of all the shows I watched. S2 was basically god awful, I almost stopped watching and the only reason I didn't was because Kristen Bell came aboard and she was one of the only redeeming qualities of the season. I'd heard last night was gonna be good but I didn't have high expectations but the it ended up being great, I was surprised... great twists, more interesting plots, great character interactions. For the first time I am looking forward to the next episode.

I thought the premier was so so. Good acting on some parts, not too great of a plot set-up...and as usually happens in Heroes, I'm kind of confused! Interesting character set-ups. I'm particularly interested in what Claire is going to do next (she's been my favorite character throughout the show and I'm interested to see how she takes the new twist on her powers) and interested to see if Elle turns villian or hero. And I'm SO confused about Nikki/Jessica/Ali Larter!

I'm with you scobro. The season premiere was a pretty bad. Unfortunately I kinda saw it coming, so it wasn't that big a disappointment. The whole show already ripped off a lot of elements from the 4400 and the new Mohinder plot-line is another one in a long line of 4400 rip-offs. In general the story is getting too complicated with way too many characters all with powers not clearly defined doing very different things. Time travel always mucks up the story and it's getting crazy with Heroes. How often can you play the, "I went to the future and I saw it get destroyed"-card before it gets old. This is the third time, they've tried it. Personally, I think maybe the earth is meant to be doomed and they should just stop trying to fight it. Linderman was right in the first season. NYC was an acceptable loss, in s2 half of humankind was risk, and now it seems the whole planet. They shouldn't have changed anything. Only good thing this episode was Francis Capra and Kristen Bell reunited.

Yay for Veronica and Weevil together again!

I did not even make that connection! Good call.

Already there. I really couldnt believe they did that again.. considering.

way too many characters all with powers
I think that is why season one appealed to me.. it was more about a few people with special gifts. The story focused on the people first. Now it is just how many superpowers- notice how they stopped calling them gifts- can we create. It had something, but it is long gone now.

I thought the premiere was sort of meh...it wasn't terrible (like most of season 2 was), but it was far from great (aside from sweaty shirtless Mohinder, but I digress.). It seems like season 1 will be the best season for a long time.

My main problems with it:
- It was way too rushed. Especially Claire and Mohinder's storylines.
- WHY IS NIKI STILL ALIVE? And ANOTHER personality? Seriously?!
- Future Peter. He's boring...Present Peter's way better.
- The villains. Great. More characters. Just what we need. And does anyone else think it's weird that all of the world's worst villains just happen to be male racial stereotypes?
- Okay, seriously, what does Maya contribute now that she can't just run around going "ALEJANDROOOOOOOOOO!"?
- Sylar's storyline is getting stale. And I'm surprised I'm saying this because I used to absolutely love him.
- Mo sucks at seducing people. But I guess that doesn't matter, 'cause he's got a rockin' bod.
- Needs more Adam and HRG.

I am excited about Claire's biological mom being back, though. I really liked her character in season 1 and was hoping she'd come back. Plus, I'm sure there'll be some tension between her and Sandra. Oh, and I'm glad they brought Nathan back, but I was expecting that. I couldn't imagine the show without him.

Hopefully, it'll get better than this, but to be honest, I highly doubt it'll ever be as good as it was in season 1.

That's what drives me nuts.. the say the 'sped' everything up for the 'fans' because they did not want to wait half the season for the action to start. IT'S CALLED STORYTELLING!

Did anyone watch last night's episode?

I thought it was really good, actually. Almost as good as season 1 at its peak. Sylar and Noah teaming up really made the episode...I loved their scenes together, definitely the highlights of the episode. I really want to know what the deal is with Sylar and Mr. Muggles in the preview for the next episode! Hiro and Ando were great, too. I loved when they went after the Haitian, Ando knocked him out, and Hiro asked, "What are you doing?!", to which Ando replied, "Being awesome!" Oh, and I'm looking forward to more scenes with Claire and Meredith...it was great seeing her knock some sense into her, even though I still don't know why it took about 10 seconds for Claire to feel like she was suffocating.

Now, the bad stuff. I still hate Future Peter...they've already done the whole "let's go back to the past and change everything 'cause the future sucks!" thing to death. At least Present Peter is out of Jesse's body. As for Niki, I've always hated her character (and Tracy Strauss or whatever isn't much better), and there's really no reason why they had to make up some ludicrous plot twist to bring her back. Oh, and my main problem with it? We still don't know what's happening to Mohinder! I think he's turning into a lizard (so there'll be two Mohinder the Lizards), but that's just me.

I really hope they can keep making episodes of this quality.

Totally agree with the whole first paragraph... not the second though cause Ali Larter's storylines have always been one of my favorites.

I gave in and did watch it

Didnt think it was that good. But.. seemed better. I am really not liking the Hiro scenes at all. So bored with that. Then the Spirit Walk thing, nah. Nothing really seemed new at all. I did like the idea of Gabe and HRG teaming up, but that even seemed short lived.

That alternate reality Gabe next week looks interesting. Funny how Clare turned out to be the big bad and Gabe all Betty Crocker-like.

You guys are off your rocker if you haven't enjoyed the first three episodes this new season. Tsk tsk tsk.
