One of the things I love about Angel was that although all of the people of Angel Inc. were hero's (at least in my eyes) they all made big mistakes. To me it makes them more relatable to real life. I hate it when the hero is all perfect and never screws up. So I was curious what was your favorite story line where one of our characters makes a terrible decision or wrong choice. There are plenty to choose from.....Angel firing the team in season 2, Wesley stealing and losing Connor, Gunn signing the sheet of paper that eventually led to Fred dying, etc. By the way I won't count any of Angelus's acts in this discussion because well, that wasn't Angel.

My biggest one is Cordy's relationship with Groo. Arrrrgggghhh! Why can't she see Angel loves her? Eh?

We all know how things are in the 'verse, but I was still yelling at the TV!
 
Mine would have to be Cordelia ascending to the higher plane.Don't get me wrong,I love that scene and Tomorrow is one of my fave episodes but everytime I see it my heart breaks because I know that decision eventually led to her death.She should've just fought the fight on Earth.It would've been better for everyone.
 
I just realized I forgot to answer my own question. Mine would have to be Angel firing the team in season 2. It was just so shocking, especially after the whole wine cellar incident. I thought it was kinda cool to see him being an asshole when he wasn't Angelus. At that point he was kinda a mix between Angel, Angelus, and Liam. It was very interesting.
 
What I liked about that whole fiasco, was when he and Lorne are chasing down End-of-the-World Guy, and Angel goes in to his whole speech about what's wrong with his life......"Angel, you should wear a nice plaid!" LMAO! That scene was hilarious.

VG, I was going to mention Cordy's ascension too! I guess I'm a hopeless romantic, cuz the relationship with Groo was worse for me. I just sat there thinking, "HOW can these people be so CLUELESS!?!" I mean, look at Fred and Wes......she practically had to throw herself on him.
 
I thought the whole scene where he has sex with Darla really showed that even he could be weak at times. The fact that he was always (in my eyes) such a strong person but in that moment gave into his lonliness and desperation by being with Darla really made me like his character even more than I did before.

I thought it really made him seem so much more realistic when that happened.

I agree with Mulder. Angel should not have fired the team in season 2 and reverted to his (even more) slouch-in-the-dark-I-hate-the-world phase. Angel was not fun then.

Me too. He seemed more 'human' somehow and it showed that he's not infallible. I guess until that happened, I saw him as larger than life, really.
