Hi everyone, I am new to the site but not new to Buffy at all 🙂
I started watching Buffy about 10 years ago when i was in sixth grade, and i recently started a class about television shows that have great followings, and immediatley i thought of Buffy. i like the show so much that i have actually decided to write my final paper on why we love Buffy! I said it is because of the characters more so then anything else because they are so relatable to me the average person. I would actually like to know what you guys think about this, or why you love Buffy? Let me know if i am on the rite track!

p.s. making a buffy movie without joss whedon sounds disrespectful to joss and all of us fans!

I've just recently started watching the show again and its clear to me why Buffy was so successful.

The characters were easy to warm too, the storylines were great. The relationships each character had with one another was fascinating. The show had everything from humour to drama, amazing fight scenes to tender romantic scenes.

The fact i'am becoming addicted 7 years after the show ended is a testimant to how great the show was.

The show had and will always have a large group of core fans which understand and love the show.

That's my thoughts, hope that helps.

Thanks Dan, any and everything helps! and i completely agree with what you have said... i actually recently got back into the show and being me watched season 2 thru season 7 in about 2 months when ever i had time

Hi Tommy! :welcome: I'd agree that the characters is the biggest reason for the show's greatness. Which is why I consider the first season the least good one even if it isn't bad. If you watch the special features on the dvd's (don't remember which one) Joss points out that they concentrated more on the characters when they realised it was what the fans was most interested in.

Hey, Tommy, and welcome!! 😀 I agree... I'm not much of a sci-fi girl, but Buffy sucked me in because of the characters and their relationships, not because of the vampires and demons. 😀

Welcome to BB. It's cool that you write about Buffy. 🙂

I love Buffy because of it seems to be a silly girlpower action series, but it's much much deeper than that and no-one would understand your passion if they don't sit and watch it.

Hey there Tommy, welcome to BB 🙂 You should get a thread set up in social studies, I'm sure loads of us would be happy to help in any way we can with the paper you're writing.

haha I felt great when my professor said we could pick any show we wanted as long as it had a huge following. I also thought I was lucky to be a Buffy fan and there are so many fans! I am glad I found this site, but I do need some help going through it I want to go to the social studies area but I am having trouble finding it.
 
Click on the section Buffy Boards School of Slayers and Demon Hunters. Then go down and i think the first option should be social studies. Hope that helps mate.
