Hi guys just joined and just recently became a buffy fan.. 🙂

So I just did a massive marathon and watched all of buffy. The show is absolutely BRILLIANT! I sorta never gave it much attention, I knew it was this very popular show, but i never wanted to sit down and watch a whole bunch of it.. I decided to buy the boxset out of nowhere cause it looked so cool and new and shiny. It was AWESOME haha..

Of course now I'm obsessed with the show (it's like in my top 3 favs now!) and so I was wondering if some of you guys could help me out with a question...

I just learned that buffy actually continues in comic book form (series 8 & 9 wooooot) and I want to purchase the whole series 8 comics as a whole set (so 40 issues in one i think??), but I'm not sure how to go about it.. where to order it, what the best deals are etc. I was thinking eBay if they have it maybe.. And is it worth buying?? It kind of threw me off that its an actual continuation of the show, that it's canon.. I SO want to get my hands on the issues.. its so exciting that it continues! yay!

Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place, etc... 😀
 
He welcome to the boards, I haven't read it but, check out the season 8 section! Also have you seen Angel?
 
Like Nightshade said, you gotta watch Angel! It's as good as Buffy. 😉 And yea, if you're a big fan of BtVS, it's definitely worth buying S8.

Hi thanks! 🙂 Yep! Def gonna check out Angel! Just gotta get through the exams grrr! And yeah I so wanna get the comics, I just don't want my broke ass to get ripped off.. haha.. I like my good deals.. 😀

Where do you get your buffy comics from btw?

You could always ask at a local comic store if you have one. If they don't have the comics, ask if they can order them in for you.

:welcome: to the boards. Glad you found Buffy and this board. After Angel there's even more to watch but to answer the question about the comics. Is it worth buying? Fans are devided so you won't know until you try it. For buying I'm guessing the cheapest is to buy the tpb's (trade paperbacks). Like this first one. 5 comics in one.

Hi, and welcome! You don't have to buy 40 separate issues - every five issues was packaged into a graphic novel, so there are 8 grapic novels making up season 8. Each one has a title. You could look at Amazon.com just to get the names.

I got some at discounted prices at a Comic-Con. Others I got on eBay. I may have bought one or two at retail. Oddly, although I have them all, I haven't read 'em yet.

Also you can download at least some of the individual issues here:

Heya and welcome!

I have been buying all the graphic novels to complete my set of season 8. Any local comic shop would probably be willing to help you find all the individual issues you want. They are usually pretty helpful.

And is your name from Doctor Who? DW is my other love.

Hey! Wow that's awesome! 😱 Graphic novels sound even better - phew!! I know absolutely zero about comic books, I've never even touched one, so glad there's novels yay! 😀 I checked online for local comic book stores and the nearest is like 50 minutes away so I'll definitely be checking eBay and Amazon for series 8. Thanks! 🙂

And to others... Yep! Doctor Who! Fav show but that's obvious.. can't help spreading 'bad wolf' around ya know.. 😱

WileyDairy hi ya.. haha Spuffy fan here.. I loved Bangel though (gosh these ship names are HOT!) in the first 3 seasons..i though their scenes were stunning, their love came of as believable and they had SO much chemistry...

When Angel left though and Spike came on full time, WOAH! 😱 I was rewinding like crazy each time spuffy had a scene, I lost count..haha.. I'd just be staring and not even listening to what they were saying... I couldn't watch them and listen at the same time haha! Let's just say their chem was of the hook! Certainly took a long time to get through season's 5-7! 😀

Do you know if Spuffy have anymore scene's together, in series 8 and 9? I so wasn't happy with their last scene is series 7..yeah the ILY's were awesome but it WASNT ENOUGH haha 🙂

I don't know if it was clear, but a graphic novel *is* a comic book - just a longer, thicker one. 🙂 It's no more a "novel" than the individual issues are. You'll understand when you first see one. 🙂
