I was curious if anyone has noticed this. In Buffy and Angel they tend to reuse actors and expect us not to notice lol. I am not just talking about extras, but actual speaking parts. Like the guy that Buffy meets in the Freshmen that is killed by Sunday is later reused as the vampire that spike sired in season 7. This guy played large roles in both eps...why did they reuse him? Also the guy from first ep in s3 where Buffy is in LA. The lead guy whose face gets ripped off. He is used on Angel as another villain (I can't think of what episode but I remember him being reused.) Also, the guy that plays the big vamp killed in the harvest is later the judge. This is more understandable due to there being so much make-up. Also, the actor that played Andrew in season 6 and 7 was also a vampire, he was one of Harm's minions when she tried to kill Buffy. There are plenty of actors out there, why reuse these guys. I was jut wondering if anyone else has noticed or if there are any reused actors that I can't think of.
 
Which guy that Spike sired are you talking about? Cause they guy who played Holden and the guy who played Eddie aren't the same guy.
 
BtVS and Angel aren't the only TV shows to reuse actors...Charmed was very famous for it as well, in fact, they used many of the same actors that Joss used.

My theory is that Joss and Co. liked workin with certain people and decided they wanted to bring them back. This is most notable with Tom Lenk, who, as you pointed out, played Harmony's minion Cyrus, then returned as Andrew, Summer Glau, who played the ballerina in Angel S3, then popped up as River on Firefly, and Jonathan Woodward, who made it to all three shows, Holdon on BtVS, Knox on Angel, and Tracy on Firefly.

However, as Blondie said, Jonathan didn't play Eddie, the college student Sunday vamped in 'The Freshman' they were two totally different actors.
 
I have noticed this a lot in the show... I loved that they reused the guy who played Kralick, the crazy vampire that was locked in the house with Buffy as Rack in S6, the guy who gave Willow her first real taste of the dark magic... But that guy who played in both "Anne" and the Angel ep "The Bachelor Party" was CREEPY (and FUGLY). Bluh.

Something I didn't know is that only 5 actors have been on all three shows... CArlos Jacott, Jeff Ricketts, Andy Umberger, Bob Fimiani and Jonathan M. Woodward, the only actors to appear in all three series created by Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997), "Angel" (1999), and "Firefly" (2002)).
 
Then you throw in the fact that the WB used to love shunting actors from show to show to keep them in 'the family'
I can think of a few that have been bit parts in Smallville/BtVS or Charmed/BtVS/Angel etc, it's handy that they do that when you're trying to think up links in 6 Degrees 😀

The Law & Order shows are the best for re-using actors. I always love that Diane Neal, who played the assistant DA on SVU for like 5 seasons appeared in an earlier season as a businesswoman accused of raping a male stripper and then killing one of her friends. :lol:
 
Here's one most people miss

Tom Kiesche played a detective in Angel s2's The Shroud of Rahmon and he played a vampire in Buffy s5's The Gift
 
oops I wasn't thinking, I meant that Knox and the vamp from Conversations with Dead People, where the same guy. Ya I don't really criticize them for doing it but i just like trying to find them. I didn't know about Kralik and the magic guy were the same...he freaks me out.

I remember thinking that Anne was reused when I saw her on Angel then I was so relieved that to find out that they kept her as Anne. I love that character and think they really built on her even if she was only in a few episodes. I always wanted Angel to realize the connection of who Anne was and that she knew Buffy, but I guess that is just something that the audience gets to keep secret. Angel had even had a conversation with her where she calls him hostile lol. But I guess neither one of them remembered.
 
I would've loved for Angel and Anne to reflect on the scene where he snapped at her in Lie To Me and called them all fools. I'm sure it would've been entertaining...
 
Im always picking up on actors who seem to circulate through Buffy and Angel then even start popping up on other WB shows like Charmed and Smallville. But one I didn't pick up on today was that guy who played Billy in the episode "Billy" from Angel was also a cop in Buffy season seven "Empty Places" where they go after Faith.
