Hey...
I figured I might as well stop in and say "hello." Although I get the feeling that I may be in the minority as I'm mainly here because of "Angel."
Anyway, I first stumbled upon these shows in 2007. I was trying to figure out which shows I should check out and "Angel" caught my eye. But I quickly realized that it was a spin-off of "Buffy" so I figured I should check out that show before giving "Angel" a try. So on a whim, I bought "The Chosen Collection" and then proceeded to finish every single episode in exactly three weeks. I enjoyed the show thoroughly, but I knew early on that I was going to like "Angel" because he was the character that interested me the most.
The timing was perfect too because by the time I got around to watching it, the Special Collector's Set was due to be released (around Halloween that year), and Halloween night is when I first started watching the show. Since then, I have been through the show a total of ten times (combined DVD/TNT viewings) and I've tried several times to NOT watch it on TNT as I don't want to risk the possibility of ever getting "sick" of the show. But that usually doesn't last long and I end up getting sucked back into the long developing story arcs.
But as a guy, "Angel" definitely appeals to me more than "Buffy" since it's much easier to relate to his character and the various story arcs that took place on that show. And I definitely view it as my favorite TV show of all time.
I also hate Joss Whedon because he has essentially ruined other TV shows for me because most of them pale in comparison (I still can't believe "Firefly" only had fourteen episodes).
And I have to add that I absolutely love Amy Acker as Winifred Burkle (Random thought I know, but I felt like I needed to add it, ha).
Anyway, I need to cut this off but is there anyone else that enjoys "Angel" more than "Buffy?" I get the feeling that if I'm not alone in this line of thinking, I'm in a very small minority. Either way, I don't know anyone else that likes these shows, so hopefully there will be some good conversations to be had here with all of you. Take care.
