Hi everyone,

I watched Buffy when it first aired and I recently bought the chosen collection. I have been watching Buffy almost nonstop now, I'm so addicted. Right now I'm up to season 6, which I feel like skipping because it is so depressing and well, it's spring outside, who wants to be depressed during spring, that in itself is tragic. I might just skip to season 7, although, I really don't want to do that either. Any suggestions? I just rewatch old episodes that I've already seen. :embarrassed:

Also, I didn't know how smart the show actually was until the second time watching it. I had no idea, first time watching it, I was way more interested in the dynamics between the characters, I had no idea how rich the dialogue actually was until now.

Another thing I didn't know was that you can have spaces in your name, my name is suppose to be discere aude=dare to learn, actually it was doctrina perpetua= forever learning but that didn't fit even with no spaces.

We've already come across each other but I never said welcome so :welcome: Hope to see you a lot around the boards.

Don't have an advice about season 6. I usually like it. Even if when I was feeling very bad I didn't enjoy it as much as I usually do. Maybe someone else can help you.

Thank you Washburne. I hope to see you around too.

I watched season 6 before, I thought it was hard to watch especially the beginning few or middle few, can't remember. I just don't know if I might be remembering that season as more depressing than it actually is. But you liked, what made you like it?

But you liked, what made you like it?

It's adult and real. Normal again sums it up pretty good actually. I don't like what's happening to mostly Buffy and Willow but I have no trouble understanding it. It makes sense. It's a sad and depressing season no doubt. But I can still find enjoyment in it. OMWF, Tabula Rasa and Normal again are all among my absolute favourite episodes. Many people dislike The trio as the "big bad" but the thing is that they aren't the big bad. Real life is. And that's as hard if not even harder to "beat" than any monster no matter how many superpowers you have.

And let me be absolutely clear. Me liking the season has nothing to do with Spuffy or Dark Willow. Both that to some are the reason they like/can stand season 6.

Thank you, I definitely consider rewatching it.

Hey there discereaude, welcome to the boards :wavespin:

You know, it's been a while since I've watched the series all the way through but I can see your point about Season 6. I had similar feelings about it the first time I watched it through, but over the years I think it's grown on me somehow! Episodes like "OMWF", "Grave" and "Tabula Rasa" made me warm up to the season, I guess (and maybe a little part of me liked seeing a TV character in a fast food job! :silly🙂. But being as its Spring Time (the happiest time of the year, after all!) my suggestion would be to go back and rewatch some of Seasons 3 or 4. Those have always been my favourites and I think generally they're pretty light-hearted seasons 🙂

And I'm not sure if you're a Buffy/Angel fan, but there's some quality Bangel material in those years! What more can we ask for, eh? 😉 😉 😀

Anyway nice to meet you, I look forward to posting with ya!

Welcome to the boards! I love your username. 🙂

I know what you mean about coming to a block of episodes you don't want to watch because they don't really fit how yo feel at the time. I'm the kind of person who has to watch every episode in order when I'm doing a re-watch. I just feel like I'll miss something if I skip, even though I've seen them all about a hundred times! I usually find that when I do get round to watching, there's a whole different side to the ep that I didn't see before. Sure, episodes like The Body are always going to be depressing, but most others have plenty of funny to keep you going! I think if you watch S6 you'll be surprised!

LOL, having a TV character in fast food job, especially Buffy of all people was definitely a highlight, especially her interview.

I have been going back to season 2 actually and moving up, episodes here and there, they are much easier to watch.

I couldn't ask for more, really, well maybe more scenes with them in it. Their relationship is what got me into the show and kept me in it, what can I say, there something about them, individually and together.

And nice meeting you too, Angelic Slayer. BTW, How did you make your banner?

And thank you, pieceofgosa. Nice to meet you.

Thanks, Lindsey McDonald. Can I call you Lindsey?

You described how I feel to a T about rewatching the episodes, I don't want to miss anything. I hope your right, I really want S6 to surprise me.

Always great to hear that we've gained another Buffy/Angel fan, but really I totally agree with you about them. It's definitely what got me interested in the show in the first place... maybe it's a trend with Bangel fans?

And I made my banner using Adobe Photoshop 🙂 It's a program kind of similar to GIMP, great for working with photos.

Hi, welcome to BB. 🙂

Can't help on the season 6 matter, because I love it, lol. Hope you do decide to rewatch it. 🙂

I see by your banner that you like Spuffy, but what are other reasons for liking season 6?

I think it is a trend, that and the fact that they never really ended their relationship, I mean, they never said"goodbye" or "bye"; people say they moved on but why do they always end up kissing and Angel leaving into the shadows not being her friend.

I really wanted to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop but I just don't have money or time right now to learn, but I'll hopefully get to it soon.

And thank you Lou Roc, it is nice to meet you.

I see by your banner that you like Spuffy, but what are other reasons for liking season 6?

Spuffy isn't the sole reason that I like season six - in fact, there's a lot about their relationship in this season that makes me uncomfortable, no matter how much I love the pairing. Anyway, I generally prefer the overall feel and tone of the later seasons to the earlier ones, so that's a contributing factor. I like the excellent individual episodes (OMWF, Dead Things, Normal Again etc.); I like the friendship between Dawn and Spike and Dawn and Tara; I like that the show took a chance and went to such dark places. I wasn't keen on dark!Willow but Giles turning up at the end to save the day is fantastic. I do admit, the first time I watched this season I wasn't that impressed, but subsequent rewatches have shown me how great it is. 🙂

Welcome to the boards, discere aude. 🙂 Seriously, you shouldn't skip season 6. It's not that bad. There's many non-depressing scenes too. 😛

Hey! Welcome to BB! 🙂 I am also the kind of person who has to watch the whole thing in order, I am really OCD, lol.

I really wanted to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop but I just don't have money or time right now to learn, but I'll hopefully get to it soon.

If you're interested in getting started, but not $800 interested, you should download GIMP. It's a free alternative, that has an impressive array of features. It's what a lot of people start off with, and many like it so much they stick with it.
