Hi, everyone, I discovered this board a month or two ago but had to wait until I finished all seven seasons before joining in, as I did not want spoilers. Well, any more spoilers than I'd already seen poking around the 'net. Heh.

I picked up the first ep of BtVS free on iTunes last September -- and was hooked immediately. What a fantastic show. Pretty much one of my two all-time favorite television shows. I am really happy to find an active forum to talk about stuff - I was on a forum for my other favorite show, 24 (several crossover actors between the two shows, too) and really enjoy discussing a good television show.

I finished season 7 last night (watched 17 eps in four days, yikes!) and promptly started my rewatch with ep 1.01.

I may as well say right now what will become quickly obvious: I LOVE Giles and Anthony Stewart Head. Giles is by far my favorite character in BtVS and most of my thoughts and reactions to the show involve him. Except in season 7, the tenderness of the father-daughter relationship between him and Buffy is just so moving and beautiful to me.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being here.

Welcome! Don't feel bad 17 episodes in four days sounds about right for me lol I was so hooked watching like 5 episodes in a row two times a day so that's like 10 in one day lmao. I just had to finish so I could join BB here and talk about it with everyone. As soon as I finished buffy (like three or four weeks ago) I bought the complete Angel TV series and now I'm watching that.

Your gonna have funnn here there is so much to do!

And it's very normal to watch that many episodes in such short time, I myself watched once season 6 in 2 days (I had a lot of time back then 😀)

I did the whole series in four or five days (meaning period of time between sleep) my fist time so 17 in four days isn't bad! actually, I think that's about my speed in me current re-watch... or it was in seasons 1 and 2 and the beginning of 3... anyway... HEYYYYYYY (don't worry, I don't normally add extra letters to the end of my words)!!! It's great to have you!!
 
It's REALLY out of the ordinary for me - I don't watch that much television. Plus during the same four-day span I watched five eps of VR5, 2 eps of Merlin, and all six eps of Free Agents. (I have this slight crush thing going on Anthony Head.) So I was televisioned out! But started my rewatch anyway. I was so sad when season 7 was over - no more new Buffy. I ordered season 1 of Angel, and will watch it because it's Joss Whedon, but really Angel and David don't do much for me. Still, I'll probably enjoy it.
 
Welcome to BB! Glad to see you bought Angel season 1 to start. 🙂 Some think that season 1 starts slow so if you do find that to be true, keep watching it gets better.
 
Welcome to the boards, Pat. I'm also a big fan of Giles, except in s7. He was a great character. 😀 Always made me laugh.

Season 7 infuriated me. I don't know which was worse: the episodes without Giles, or all of the rest of the episodes where he was in them but was made completely irrelevant. Why marginalize such a great character? Sooooo disappointing.

I hope you will. Angel on Btvs and on his own show is not the same but even if you don't like him there's a bunch of other characters you'll probably be fond of. Once you're done with Angel don't forget Firefly. It's a must.
 
Welcome to the boards!! Glad to have such an avid fan.

I love Giles and Anthony Head too, hehe. 😀 One of my favorite characters in BtVS. And I highly recommend watching Angel, even if you're not a big fan of Angel/DB. It's an incredible show and Angel on his own show is much different from Angel on BtVS. And even if you still don't end up liking Angel, the other characters are most definitely worth sticking around for! 😀

And I second Washburne's recommendation of Firefly. Another great Whedon show.
 
I've seen Firefly, and loved it. I watched it for Adam Baldwin. It's probably one of the reasons I gave BtVS a try when the premiere ep became available for free on iTunes last September - and the rest is history. 🙂 I need to rewatch Firefly.
