My name is Michael Steele. I'm a musician (no, not THAT musician) from San Fran and I've been a Buffy fan since Welcome to the Hellmouth, and continue to enjoy the beginnings of this current season. I'm hoping Joss can either deliver an amazing season eight, or end the series in a satisfying way--does anyone remember how Forever Knight ended? Does anyone want to?
BtVS runs the gamut of emotions, from funny to sad to elated, in any order, and all within a heartbeat, and that just blows me away. I think that's why my favorite episode remains The Prom.
I'm still not crazy about the move to UPN. On the WB you got Dido (theme from Roswell); on UPN you get Russell Watson (Diane Warren's theme from Enterprise). And UPN's spots and promos don't have nearly the style and "oomph" as the ones on the WB. As a network UPN is just... clunky.
The technogeek in me wants, when the media becomes more affordable, to collect the WB Buffy spots and promos and burn them onto DVDr. Yeah, I saved all my Buffy tapes, even after buying the DVDs. Always taped in SP mode and in Hi-Fi just because it looked and sounded better--I did mention I'm a technogeek, didn't I?
I haven't watched Angel avidly since the first season (something about a certain very cool character being killed off), although I think there have been, and continue to be, episodes so jaw-droppingly good that you have to watch. Sometimes.
Anyway, that's me and my interest in Buffy, all in a nut. I'll bookmark the site and check back from time to time!
