Raki
Frenzied serenity
Hello, Buffy-Boards, I'm Raki. I'm 18 and a guy, and although I'm aware that 18 and a guy + Internet is not always the best combination, please bear with me. In terms of Buffy fandom, I used to watch reruns of it when I was a kid sometimes, alongside Angel and Charmed. After that, I grew up and forgot about it, until I discovered that people were still arguing about the minutiae of Buffy and other people were writing long academic papers about it, at which point I went back, watched it all again and kablooey, I realised my true calling and now Buffy is my favourite TV show. Having quickly become emotionally involved in the show, I immediately sought out others to share the love with only to find that none of the people I knew in real life had any interest in Buffy, either because they actually expect to like it and don't want to find themselves obsessed with it or because they think it looks stupid and refuse to give it a chance. So here I am, in search of more Buffy people.
In terms of the greater Whedonverse, I've checked out some of his other work, but nothing has come close to Buffy and Angel. I did think Firefly was pretty cool and Dollhouse was conceptually kind of interesting even though the execution was iffy.
I've also firmly decided that I fall on the Bangel side of the shipper spectrum, which I kind of did as a kid too since I've always been into the whole epic, transcendental love shebang. I actually used to ship for other fandoms - maybe I'll get involved in some of that stuff here. It's been too long.
Aside from Buffy, I'm interested in humanities/arts type things "“ culture, society, politics, literature, music, etc. In addition, I'm a bit of a weeaboo i.e. I like Japanese things.
