Newbie here!

I really didn't even know this place existed, but Valjavertjinn mentioned it to me after reading my long-winded rants about how much I miss the good old days of message boards and chat rooms (because I am internet-old, heh) and how much I prefer the community spirit of forums over the fast and fleeting posts of Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and the like. She puts up with my rants a lot. 😀

So...hi! So excited to be joining you all!

I've been a Buffy fan for a little over a year now...watched in on Netflix, fell in love, bought the DVDs, and generally became obsessed. I've been a fan of Joss Whedon's other work, but for some reason had never thought I'd enjoy Buffy. Clearly I had no idea what it was actually about. I'm veeeeery slowly watching Angel, but I'm still on the first season.

I'm also a huge fan of Giles. I fell in love with him after just a few episodes. He's now officially in my top three favorite fictional characters, heh.

Favorite ships are Giles/Jenny and Giles/Joyce...but don't ask me to choose one over the other! I love each pairing for different reasons, but I can never decide which I like more!

I also adore the relationship between Giles and Buffy...they're so beautiful and sweet.

Welcome to BB! Yay, Giles is awesome! And I totally ship Giles/Jenny (Calendiles) too. 😀 Hope to see you more around the boards.

Oh my, so many welcomes!!! I expected maybe two or three replies. Thank you all so much! :redface2:

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone, getting involved in discussions, and finding my feet! I'm no stranger to the vBulletin style, but it's been a while, and it looks like there are a few new features that I'll have to get up to speed on.

Heh, no worries...my insanity has never been confirmed by an actual professional! The name comes from a quote from one of my other favorite shows, Babylon 5.

The other two are Professor Roy Hinkley from Gilligan's Island, and Sam Beckett from Quantum Leap. Obviously I have a thing for brains! 😀 And for guys with a tendency toward somewhat repressed awkwardness. hee.

YAY SOMEONE ELSE SHIPS IT! Hee. There aren't a whole lot of us, are there? I made a blog for them on Tumblr, and it has a whole 14 followers (and one of those is me!). Nice to meet a fellow fan of the pairing!

Hey, this is just an update to say that I'm back!

I kind of disappeared for a while, not long after joining, which probably looked like I did an about-face and quit (which wasn't the case, though I didn't announce I was taking a break).

Mainly it was to finish watching Angel, since I was coming across a lot of spoilers and it was hard to join in on some discussions when I had no idea what had happened on that side of the Buffyverse. Things aren't so separate here when it comes to discussions (which is not a bad thing!) and I wanted to finish the series with limited spoilers.

I finished Angel some time ago, but then I just kind of lacked the momentum to get back into things here. Trying to spend less time online, and all that. You know how it goes! 🙂

But I'm back, so I guess...you'll see more of me around again. 😀
