Highlander--Movies/Series

How many "Highlander" fans are there here? Which did you prefer, the movies, or the series?

I preferred the series,even though it didn't exactly follow the premise as set by the original movie. I would love to see Duncan come knocking on the door of the Slayer castle someday and find out that it was really "Castle Macleod."

I'm not a huge fanatic, though I'll watch the series if I'm not doing anything and I happen to see them lying around. But yeah, series for me. I never could get into the character of Conner...though Duncan I could easily just stare at *drools*

I didn't like the idea of Richie becoming an immortal..nor Tessa dying. The show lost it's edge for me then...until I realized my love for Methos! Then I became a huge Duncan/Amanda shipper hehe

white avenger agrees: Yeah, it's a shame they couldn't have had a Methos spinoff instead of Amanda. She just couldn't handle center stage

The spinoff was called "Highlander-The Raven" in which Amanda was (obviously) the feature character. As I said, it only lasted a single season. I saw only a few episodes, since it was on here at about 3AM on a week night. The ones I saw just didn't have the action or plot that "Highlander" did. (It was was at the time of the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal, and Elizabeth Gracen (?) announced, don't ask me why, that she, also, had also had an affair with Clinton when he was Governor of Arkansas. That has nothing to do with the show, it just happened during its single season.)

There was talk of a Methos spinoff for a few years after the original series ended, but it never came about. A lot of fans were disappointed about that, but they were slightly appeased when he had a part in the movie "Highlander-Endgame," which starred both Christopher Lambert and Adrian Paul.

I've only ever watched the first film, and have never actually managed to watch it all in one go. I've actually been saying to the hubby that I fancy watching it again. I've never watched any of the series though so can't compare. I did enjoy the film though...especially all the music. 😀
