"Highlander" Remake

I've not heard anything about it. Every film seems to get remade though, and it's usually crap. But who knows? This might turn out different with the right people. If it does happen, then I think Kevin McKidd has the abilitly to make it work.
 
I kinda liked his character on Rome so hope he does well in it too if it becomes reality. Hard to say, interesting that their doing total remake, I mean with Connor as main character and not Duncan as later was. Might be because Duncan is more freshly in people mind I guess.

It's seems to be the current trend though. They've done it with James Bond, with Batman, with Iron Man, with Star Trek, and now with Connor of the Clan Macleod. Everybody's getting "re-defined" these days.
 
Can't imagine someone called "Kevin" being a butt kicker. Maybe that's just my own bias 😉

Not sure how I feel about a remake. The question is, can a remake of Highlander possibly be any more of a travesty than Highlander II? Probably not. So I'll give it a go. But who could possibly replace Sean!

The entire James Bond series is definite proof that NOBODY will ever replace Connery.
On one hand I wish they would leave the classics alone, on the other you know there are people out there who actually say highlander what? new media might get some new viewers. Then when undoubtedly some one says...this new stuff is terrible I like the originals; somepeople might seak them out.

Or maybe the remake is so terrible that it turns the viewer off completely, but something that bad might still make one curious about the older flicks.
 
I like the premise of Highlander, but hate the movies (and the show) so I'm actually looking forward to this remake, maybe I'll like it.
 
And there is another take on it I had not considered. If it sucketh once must it forever gulp air? Good point by demonstration Randy.

Me personally, I loved the first movie as well as the third one with Mario Van Peebles in it. (condom eating barbarians are funny) I'm not overly fond of the tv series though...got into it way too late.

I'm looking forward to this movie just to compare it. (Well, that and liking Highlander)
 
This thread makes me want to watch the original Highlander again.
Haven't seen it in a very long time and I absolutely loved it and saw it countless of time back in the 80's.

I don't mind a remake, would probably see it for fun and to compare.
More curious about who will play Kurgan, Clancy Brown was great.

I loved the original movie, and also the series, which obviously happened in an entirely different reality. The franchise went downhill quickly after the first movie and the original series respectively, so I really have high hopes that a remake will spark a renewed interest and hopefully more (good) movies.
