So a few months ago I uploaded some video reviews of Charmed. Unfortunately, most of the videos were blocked. But the creator REPOSTED them, so here they are in all the glory. These videos made my day. I may be a fan, but the sheer snark and hatred this reviewer has is also so on point and hilarious I had to share. Enjoy!

Gave this a try, it really cracked me up

She points out a lot of flaws, haha. I agree on the sheer snark being enjoyable.
 
Also, people didn't like Dan? But he was so hot. I loved Dan.

I did give Charmed a chance (renting it around the same time I first rented Buffy) but dropped it pretty fast. I'm not surprised going by the description (sounds a bit like a cross between Sabrina and Sex and the City), though I can barely remember anything. I recall a scene from episode 1 without any context, and only because it got me to thinking about my time in San Francisco. I vaguely recall the story of some guy murdered and doomed by some Chinese demon or Hell until one of the women save him somehow. And that's all I recall, very vaguely. While I lack Angel's photographic memory, I usually can remember more than that so it must've been immanently forgettable to me, and going by the description of the first vid I saw last night I can see why.

That said, I just watched the specific one posted, and hearing of the magical ninja action figure coming to life and giving people cancer or whatever DOES make me wanna look into it more. I can love it when a show gets that unapologetically stupid (whether I laugh with or AT it depends on how serious I think the writers taking themselves, and I can love the actors who give it their all to go with it even if it's not enough to save the story). I had to pause the vid until I was done laughing so hard.
 
Also, I didn't realize Misha Collins was in season 2. Haha, I remembered the episode and that I thought he was cute when I first saw it... lol! He looks like he should be in a boy band or something... but then, that was the look of the time. 😉
 
Seriously I was crying from laughing so hard. Wait until she talks about season 5 and 6 and her hatred for Phoebe🙂 her undiluted hatred is the best thing .

Oooh, I do hate Phoebe in the later seasons. So I'll probably enjoy that too much 😛

I skipped ahead a little, and oh my, the Armin Shimerman clip where he says there's a reason these actresses were cast as witches! Lol!
She's summing up my feelings on Phoebe and where the show went wrong so well.

Exactly! I love how she takes them to task for the absolute railroading of Cole and how he was mistreated. She points out the ego and selfishness if piper and especially phoebe beautifully! Seriously because of these reviews I have a lot more respect for Billie and Christie lol
 
Keep with it if you have the time! They really get better and better

I am, they're amazing. Calling Phoebe a sentient fart by season 7 made me laugh out loud!
@GraceK Ok, thanks for these. They have really tickled me as I spent some much needed time on the couch. 😀

And right, convinced now - she got her theory right, the Charmed ones are 100% really, actually, the bad guys. Only way to explain how they deteriorate from saving innocents, to selfish hags who complain about innocents getting in the way of them leading their lives, killing hundreds through sheer negligence... this show would have been far more amazing if it would've ended with them truly bad and conquered by Billie and her sister! A cautionary tale about how power corrupts! They really lost a golden opportunity here! (Cole was the true hero of the show, clearly)

Realized I must've skipped parts of season 7-8 (I mean really, who can blame me?) I did not remember the PMS-werewolves they turned into during a blue moon (omg, hilarious), nor the Cupid guy Phoebe falls for. I still can't digest the whole PMS werewolves thing...

Lmao the PMS werewolves at that point didn’t even surprise me . Poor Cole, he got such a raw deal. He was way to good for Phoebe. Poor Leo too, stuck with Piper forever abusing him . It retrospect it really makes you realize what a mistake they made losing Shannon Doherty. The strong was much stronger the first 3 seasons 🙂
