Ted realizes his blind date is the same girl he had a blind date with seven years prior, and they use the opportunity to try to learn what they do wrong on first dates. Meanwhile, Barney and Marshall discover a Lily look-alike at a strip club—the "third doppelgänger" for a member of the gang they've found so far.

Not the best episode ever, but still okay.

I liked the idea of the doppelangers, and can't wait to see who doppelganger Barney and Ted will be!
I didn't really like Barney and Robin in this episode, though. I don't know, but the way they were miscommunicating all the time was kinda not funny. I felt especially bad for Robin, how she kept saing she DID mind that Barney went to a strip club.
 
Yeah, it was only an okay episode.

I prefered Ted's blind date story.
The show really does a great work telling those kind of stories imho.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, the blind date story was nice, and it was good to see the girl from Sabrina 🙂.
The idea of doppelgangers sounds great and Moustache Marshall was hilarious.

Barney and Robin still aren't working for me, and this episode did little make me feel otherwise, but we'll see what's to come.

Stripper Lily was hilarious, the only thing that bugged me was that Robin seemed kind of out of character...
 
^ I agree with you. Robin is definitely not the kind of woman who'd have a problem with her boyfriend going to strip clubs. That just felt completely wrong. I know it was done for comedic purpose but that woman was not Robin. Robin would waltz in there, order a Scotch and enjoy the show. That's why I didn't enjoy that part of the story much. I also didn't like Marshall's "kill off Lilly"-fantasy but not because it was bad but because it took too long.

I liked the first date storyline, it was funny, it was witty, it was one of the storylines that make me go "Yes, that is why I watch HIMYM".

Moustache Marshall was hilarious, Stripper Lilly was... interesting. That's one of the great things of How I Met Your Mother. It has such a strong continuity (remember the goat incident?) that one can be sure that we are going to see the other two doppelgängers.


And, completely unrelated to the episode but a thing I just noticed. I rewatched episode 4x04 "Intervention" yesterday and on the part where they take that picture "one year from now" you can totally tell that Robin and Barney are already a couple there. It's a subtle hint (one I didn't pick up earlier, shame on me) but now it's crystal clear.
