Premise:
Ted recently fell in love. It all started when Ted's best friend, Marshall, drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend Lily, a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he hopes to find true love, too. Helping him in his quest is Barney, a friend with endless (sometimes outrageous) opinions, a penchant for suits and a fool-proof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin, he's sure it's love at first sight -- but destiny may have something else in store. With voice-over by Bob Saget ("Full House"), the show is told through flashbacks from the future.

I would so have loved Alyson as my kindergarden teacher. Problem with this program though is it sounds like it has limited long-term potential, wish the show luck though.

Eonline's Kristin likes it, for what that's worth -

From sarahpsuc: Anything on Alyson Hannigan's new show?

Kristin: Only that it is fantastic. The only laugh-tracked series I've seen and liked in nearly five years.

I've been reading about this one, and I have some random thoughts.

* It's being compared to "Friends". Check this pic out -

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/how_i_met_your_mother/

* Remember in Buffy in the episode Help when Willow talks about how she used to post Doogie Howser fanfic? The actor who played Doogie Howser is in this.

* It's by the production team that did Freaks and Geeks. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

* Bob Saget is going to do some kind of voice-over narration. I'm not sure I like that.

* Alyson herself says this about it -

"It's all set in flashback with a narrator talking to his teenage children about how he met their mother. It's funny, but it also has such a huge heart to it."

* It's going to be playing opposite Nicholas Brandon's new series Kitchen Confidential.

* Someone who's seen clips is optimistic about it's chances

* Alyson's character's name is Lily. Alyson with one L, and Lily with one L. Any significance there? I doubt it. How about this then. She was a Willow, and now she's a Lilly. Yeah I know I'm reaching. 🙂

I watched it, the laugh track is OTT IMO (lots of acronyms!). Something like Friends is a bit more subtle, or maybe its cause it was clips and in a normal ep it would be spread out.

Furthermore, whats with the eye patch?

Well the eyepatch is explained.

Seems okay, still a bit OTT with the comedy, but I've never been a huge comedy fan. Shame that Alyson has seemingly reverted to the airheaded funny girl persona. She's done funny in Buffy and Veronica Mars without seeming like a bimbo before, but in this and American Pie she just seems to be less serious.

yes, i'm sold on that now. the canwest clip was too pick & choosy for me to get anything. i'll give it a go!
