I'm currently studying this anyway, but just do a quick google search and you'll find:

One in Four Primary Schools Still have no Male teachers
No Male Teachers at 4500 Primary Schools
No Male Teacher's in a Quarter of Primary Schools
Why Men Are Not Going into Primary School Teaching

It's simple fact.

The government can say 100x over that they want more male primary school teachers, but until employer attitudes change, it's not going to happen.

Do you see it as a problem for an employer, who is just starting out with a small business, to choose a man over a woman?

if the woman meets the qualifications, has the credentials & experience that match those of a man & the employer chooses the man over the woman for no other reason than because he's a man? yes thats a problem & there's a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex & many states as well as local govt's have such laws in place too.

to cite things such as the possibility of a woman becoming pregnant & having to take maternity leave as an excuse not to hire her is RIDICULOUS & would land an employer in serious hot water w/ local, state & fed entites such as the EEOC & National Labor Relations Board among others.

employers these days (in america @ least) are capitalizing on the fact that it's an "employer's market" & are really bending (if not outright breaking) legal standards & ethical standards of conduct when it comes to them hiring people. its getting out of hand but this is something that has gone on for quite sometime & @ one point erring to gender bias when hiring was considered acceptable & even legal. its good that we've progressed passed that but there's still many problems & much to do as employers still find ways to discriminate & cover it up w/ "code" reasons so they decrease the chances of them getting scrutinized or facing legal trouble for it.
