Hiroshima, and how it affects the world today

WMDs - they never existed in Iraq since after Desert Storm. They were just the excuse that the "Axis of Idiocy" (Bush and Blair) needed for their oil-thirst driven invasion of Iraq. They couldn't come up with any credible connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda either...OK so they toppled Saddam but they created an even more unstable and potentially radical (i.e. anti-US) terrorist state...it beggars belief, it really does...

Yeah, I've heard that there were no connection there either. However, I'd feel safer really knowing there wasn't anything there. I agree with the radicals there now. You can't force another type of government on people and expect them to like you. Is that the reason we haven't left Iraq yet? Because things are too unstable there for troops just to back up and leave?

And further if the whole point of invading Iraq was WMDs they why didn't we hit up north korea first?

I think and I could really be wrong with this, but I heard something along the lines that the leader over there made a statement that if we tried to take the weapons from him then he would attack us... or something. I could be really wrong with this, so could someone please clarify?

can you find an a good article for me about the atlanta bombing. i've never heard that one either.

going with MR. Pointy on the best site ever:

yes i think you are right...so to me this says: hello! i am way dangerous and obviously a problem, and yet we went to Iraq...i am failing to see the reasoning there. but whatever...i'd rather avoid the war thing altogether...can't we all just get along--heck yes rodney king

thanks for the link. ive never even heard of that before!
W00t..go wikipedia....I was thinkign capitalism but thats not exactly havign anythign to do with government.

I think war or no war, either way theirs gonna be problems. Withotu the war in Iraq we have Saddam who isnt exactly the most stable of people and some other unstable people. With the war in Iraq we have radical insurgencies and still unstable people. So which is the less of two evils? War or no war?

Well, that's just my opinion that it could have saved a lot more lives. Wasn't Russia on our side? The war was mainly against Germany and Japan, wasn't it? Why would we wanna show show power to them?

Nothing is that black and white. Do you honestly think there is a good side and a bad side? Life isn't a movie. You Yanks didn't come running in to save the day, it wasn't a case of good versus bad. Truth is, America was more corncerned by Russia, than it ever was with Germany( a Germany funded by Corporate America, before and during WW2). If Russia defeated Germany, then there was no force in Europe to stop Russia carrying on past Germany and conquering all of Europe. A united europe is/was dangerous to America's world domination. If America was truly worried about Germany and what was happening in it, then the American government wouldn't have tried on many times to slow Pattons drive across Europe.

Yes, going into Iraq had something to do with WMD. I know another reason was to take Sadam out of power. If you can find a highly credible source that says it had absolutely nothing to do with WMD, then do it.

Remove Sadam from power? Even though Sadam has at times been funded by the American Governement?

America and Britain said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

But they didn't have WMD, the opposite was true.

America and Britain said they were invading Iraq because Iraq had WMD. Well, we know Iraq didn't have WMD, so what's the opposite of this?

America and Britain invaded Iraq because they knew they didn't have WMD.

It's naive to believe America wouldn't randomly bomb a country, but people from Al Quida, I'll say now because PoTU changed my thinking about that, would bomb us? How so? What was the reasons behind 9/11?

Of course America would never randomly bomb a country. Pathological liars can always "find" a good reason. Al Qaeda are not a country, they are a terrorist organization. Funnily enough, an organization that was also funded by the American Government, and an organization that was taught by the CIA.

So, I'll ask you. What was the reason for 9/11? What did some assholes in a cave hope to achieve from attacking a country half way across the world? What did they achieve? AND, most important question.. Who gained the most because of 9/11??

America said they were attacked by an outside force. What's the opposite of that?

Well, isn't one of the main goals of TERRORism to spread terror? That's what they did and people are still worried today. So, yes in that respect they gained the most from 9/11.

And about the Russia/Germany thing, if you can find me a good article that backs up my statement then I'll discuss it with you. As of right now I think you're going on your own believes and not facts.

I don't think America came in to save the day either. We came in towards the end of the war even after we knew that the Holocaust was going on. Which... Hm... That makes me have a thought... maybe the thing you said about Russia and Germany was true...

Ok.. Maybe you were right. Thinking about it now. America didn't get involved in the war until Pearl Harbor. If we were so worried about Germany why didn't we rush in? Unless there was some other alternative motive for going on.

So... thinking about it now you actually might be right. I never thought of it that way before.. Hm... Good point!

Causing terror is not the achievement. Terrorism is used to achieve something, usually some political aim. Terrorism is the method used, its not the end itself. Did you know, that since America and Britain invaded Afghanistan, there has been more heroin in the world than ever before? Capitalism, baby! Those asshat Arabs can never do anything useful. They needed us to shown them how to grow it, make it, and supply it efficiently.

What, an article to say America was more concerned by Russia than Germany? I'm not sure where you would find such a thing. It was America's intent to let communism and fascism duke it out. 40 years of Cold war, informs you that America was afraid of Russia, and likewise. By the time America invaded Europe, Germany was all but defeated. After the defeat at Stalingrad(some time early 43'), they were in full retreat from Russian lands, and the Russian armies weren't stopping for shit. America's involvement in Europe was not about liberating it, it was about building a wall against the rising communism.

Ok.. Maybe you were right. Thinking about it now. America didn't get involved in the war until Pearl Harbor. If we were so worried about Germany why didn't we rush in? Unless there was some other alternative motive for going on.

There are always alterior motives.

i'm learning about the Cold War in history this coming week. so once that chapter is over i can comment on that a little more with u.
I wasn't actually born yet when Hiroshima occured so I wouldn't know the difference the world we live in now is the world I was born and raised in. The only real differences in society that I've noticed started because of 9/11.

i wasnt born yet either, but u still learn about it in History 2
How does that remotely correlate? There are tons of statistics that can be manipulated like that, that really says nothing.

Hello? I was ranting, sense has no place in a rant.

By 2001 the Taliban had reduced opium growth, and heroin production by about 90/95% in Afghanistan.

Britain and America accused the Taliban of being an evil regime funded by drugs.

A year later, after the Taliban had been toppled, poppy production went from 200 tonnes, to 3500 tonnes..
