Shame not many of the original actors are in it, is Kate Bush going to sing the theme song? It was received so well because of the quality of the actors, even the baddies aren't as bad anymore.

I've been meaning to read them, but I'm always a bit hesitant about fantasy books where you have to get into a whole new world. But now I have something motivating me 🙂

The second of the new trilogy is due out in October? I think, so I'll try and reread the others before then.

I loved the books and I liked the Golden Compass movie, but I knew they'd never do the other two books as movies... there is too much overtly anti-religious stuff there to go over well with an American audience, at least. Hopefully this series will be true to the author's intentions. I am looking forward to it.

It was smart of them to run this trailer right after the Game of Thrones finale... so all the people who were planning to cancel their HBO subscriptions now will see there's another epic fantasy adaptation coming up and maybe reconsider.
